What customers say
This campsite boasts stunning views and a beautiful location, perfect for exploring the Lake District. Visitors consistently praise the incredibly friendly and helpful owner, Jonnty, who offers local knowledge and assistance. Facilities are well-maintained, clean, and include hot showers, flushing toilets, and a useful polytunnel for drying clothes. Fire pits are available, and the site is well-kept with flat pitches. While generally peaceful, some guests noted occasional noise from other campers, and a few mentioned that the Wi-Fi can be inconsistent further from the entrance. The campsite is highly recommended for its value and welcoming atmosphere.

Perfect campsite to stay a few nights
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Very accommodating. Had to turn up earlier then we put down due to mate breaking down. No one was at the campsite so just set up and waited for owners to turn up. Owners super nice, easy to talk too. Showers are grate, washing facilities, the grass field is perfect for camping in a car or tent. They have wood for a fire. They offer chairs and firepits. Box to charge devices if you need. Toilets are very good for outdoor toilets. Biggest bonus that we did not expect FREE WIFI! Just pure class. Considering signal is hit and miss in lake district this was a very nice touch. No matter where you are in the field you get internet.
Disliked Nothing really to dislike just be respectful and you'll have a great time.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The facilities were nice and clean, lovely hot showers, had a place to charge your devices, a communal tent that people could sit in, running water with sinks perfect to wash up cooking equipment in. They provided bags of wood and a fire pit for us aswell very nice.
Disliked We stayed down the end of the field rather far away from the WiFi but once you walked up the field a bit more the WiFi was fine

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The owner - Jonnty was amazing, always on hand; morning noon or night for helpful advice, recommendations or just a friendly chat - he couldn't do enough for us.
The site - well maintained and stocked
There were plenty of toilets with loo roll
There were warm showers
There was a washing up area in a large polytunnel which was an absolutely fantastic idea for evening get togethers out of the rain, it also had washing lines in it for wet laundry.
Disliked There are friendly signs mentioning it was a quiet camping site with a 10pm noise curfew which was good for us but may not be for everyone

Overall a great site, maybe just be prepared with ear plugs!
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Plenty toilets with loo roll and warm showers, polytunnel was great for hanging bits up, washing pots, and sitting in when rainy. No pitch size limit means you can bring multiple tents for a group. Views are beautiful.
Disliked There’s signs mentioning a 10pm noise curfew but unfortunately this was not enforced, and a few loud groups on site until midnight on some nights. We’d hoped for a bit more of a peaceful site, which this wasn’t. Great if you’ve got kids or want to camp as a big group though. Owner is pretty much always there which can be a positive or negative depending on your outlook.
