What customers say
This is a peaceful, well-maintained small campsite with spacious pitches. Visitors consistently praise the friendly and helpful owner, Claire, and the clean facilities, particularly the kitchen area. The presence of animals like horses and chickens is a highlight for many, especially children. While some mention the £1 charge for the shower and the need to bring own toilet roll, the overall sentiment is very positive, with many planning return visits.

From the manager: Thank you for your great review. I've seen your booking. Look forward to seeing you again.
Not the greatest, ok for a night. There's no phone signal though.

Liked Hard to find anything to say, nice view of the stars when it was a clear night.
There was a little room off the kitchen with armchairs, probably would have been good in the rain. Chairs needed cleaning though.
Communication was good though, the lady rang and left a voice message telling me how to get to my pitch in case she wasn't around.
Disliked Only one toilet and one shower for the whole site, around 30 people were there when we stayed. Also the shower required a pound coin to run. And there was no toilet paper, although the kitchen had plenty of washing up liquid and sponges.
A lot of wasps nests around the field so consequently a lot of wasps. I know its just nature, but nests in a campsite isn't great.
All in all it felt like a site that had been neglected, with a little care and a bit of creativity it could be a lovely site.

From the manager: My campsite is never neglected. I. Patrol all day to make sure the facilities are clean. It does say on. Pitch up to bring your own loo roll. You texd me to say the shower smelled and was dirty, in fact I was there cleaning when I received your.message. It certainly did, not smell. When there are lots of. Campers especially with children there may be times when a child or even an adult may not clean the shower or toilet after themselves. I simply cannot control wasps. My property covers four acres and is in the middle of hundreds of acres of open countryside. There are in fact two toilets not one. My scores are generally ten out.of ten therefore I find your comments an insult.
Came for 2 nights-stayed for 4!
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked This was our second stay here. Only 45mins away from home, but far enough away to fully switch off.
Claire(the site owner) had been thrown off her horse only two days before our arrival, yet she still hobbled around the site, neck brace and crutches, to check everyone was ok and settled. What a woman!
The site is small, with a well equipped kitchen. There’s chickens, a rabbit and horses on site which my boys loved. They even helped feed the chickens.
The toilets are kept very clean(bring your own loo roll).
The pitches are well spaced out.
We originally booked to stay 2 nights, but ended up adding on extra nights as we were having such a lovely time. Claire was very accommodating.
There is a co-op just 5 mins drive away and Sainsburys is in Whitchurch, for any essentials.
Thanks for a lovely break. We will definitely be back
Disliked Nothing!

Friendly and competent staff keeping everything clean and managed.

Liked Great host, great communication and information. Nice few facilities on camp, kitchen and showers. Easy to get hold of and helped when i had a flat tide on my bike. Made the stay

From the manager: Thank you Kenny. I was concerned for you riding your bicycle all the way back to Liverpool and do hope you made it home without further mishap.

Liked Easy to find. Instructions very clear. Peaceful. Great to have kitchen goods, such as microwave, kettle, fridge freezer and a room to sit if needed (nb we didn't use).
Great to be able to book odd nights.
Disliked Only 1 shower and £1 coin required. It runs for 10 minutes, great for some, but a long time if camp full and you're waiting.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. I'm really sorry you feel you wouldn't return. You mention that you didn't find my site child friendly yet most campers do and I strive to make it so. I would welcome any feedback you could give on how I could improve. I have set the shower on a ten minute timer to strike a balance on giving plenty of time to have a good shower, but at the same time, preventing people from spending ages whilst others are waiting. I strive to keep all the facilities as clean as possible by patrolling many times a day.
Nice quiet site, lovely location.

Liked Lady friendly & helpful but didn't feel over-watched.
Lovely views.
Lovely area with lots of local attractions. Would have liked to have stayed longer to do more of the Sandstone trail.
Disliked The weeds near the chickens could do with pulling if I had to be picky - only cos I have a lil boy but other than that was great! Nothing bad! X

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed your stay. I let the wildflowers grow a little along the hen run.but they are. Not. Tall. It. Stops the hens being frightened by dogs poking their noses through the chicken wire.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovley place to stay , we had a relaxing time, was only for 1 night so our 4 year old had the experience of camping and he loved it , we just need to invest in a bigger tent .. also shower , toilet, and a kitchen with microwaves are available to use ..
Disliked Nothing to dislike

From the manager: Thank you for your good review Neil. Good to know your child has taken to camping and you can now invest in better equipment.
Lovely site, ruined by inconsiderate people.
Electric grass pitch
Liked Lovely owner, location and animals. Site was clean.
Disliked Bit short on facilities and most groups on site were noisy until midnight with no attempt to get it under control. Dogs barked day and night, made sleeping difficult and put a significant damper on the weekend

From the manager: Hi Mike. I have replied but stupidly put on wrong customers review. So please can you read. I also meant to add that I couldn't understand what you meant by lack of facilities as nobody has said this before. If the pitch up review system allows could you clarify. Thank you.
