What customers say

This is a beautifully maintained, peaceful campsite with spacious pitches and lovely views. Visitors consistently praise the extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful owners. Facilities, particularly the toilet and shower block, are frequently described as spotless and well-kept. The site's tranquil atmosphere and convenient location for walks and nearby pubs are highlights. A minor recurring point is that the single toilet and shower facility could be a challenge during busier periods.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Absolutely loved it, probably shouldn't praise the site and Alex, who runs it, too much otherwise everybody will want to stay there ;-)

A choice of two fields, fantastically maintained with larger than average pitches in our view. Super friendly people at the helm, what's not to like.

This isn't a dislike but there is only one toilet at the moment, they're only in their second year and a further toilet will be added soonest we understand.

The Yew Tree pub is about a 15 minute walk away, really worth a visit, dog friendly, real ale and again what's not to like.

We'll return next year for sure, thanks to the owners for a great experience.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Gorgeous site, we loved the pitches mowed into the meadow so it felt like we had our own little space.

Owners were lovely and helpful, toilet & showers were super clean, the whole site is so neat and tidy.

The kids (4 & 11) loved the space and enjoyed flying kites, playing games, building dens, & we went to the Bickerton Poacher for lunch and for them to play on the park. We all enjoyed watching the sunsets and stargazing!

Would definitely come back!

Liked Peaceful, wild feeling campsite. Lovely level pitches and all very well maintained. Nearby Bunbury is also lovely with a very handy Co-op. Alex is a very welcoming host with lots of useful information. Even a handy shed to store my bike!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked A beautiful campsite with large pitches. We received a warm welcome and were able to be pitched next to the rest of our family. The facilities were clean. There’s a lovely pub for food only ten minutes walk away and Tilly’s for breakfast was fantastic.

We stopped at the Crocky trail which is 20 minutes drive away. And there’s lots of other options for things to do in the area.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Location, views, facilities, neat and tidy campsite, helpful & friendly hosts

Disliked Would be good if the dividing wall between the shower and toilet went all the way up to the ceiling for peace of mind from a privacy standpoint

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked We absolutely loved it here and will defiantly be back! As soon as you arrive you can see how well kept the site is, every aspect of it. The land is beautiful, the shower & toilet area is clean. The shower itself was hot and perfect for camping.
The weather forecast was predicted bad so we were so lucky to have the site to ourselves and even luckier with the forecast being totally wrong. The pitches are great, the dogs absolutely loved it. The owners were lovely, helpful and very welcoming. We only did one night to test out our new tent box, but will defiantly be back. Thanks for having us Alex & family!

Disliked Absolutely nothing!

Local attractions

Younger kids may not give you any peace until you’ve taken them to The Ice Cream Farm (15 minutes’ drive) to sample more than 40 flavours of homemade ice cream and have a run around at the play area. The elephants, tigers and giraffes at Chester Zoo (half an hour) are likely to be second on the list, or you can go diving with sharks at Blue Planet Aquarium (35 minutes). Take the whole family to test their mettle on the zipwires and treetop rope courses at BeWILDerwood Cheshire (10 minutes’ drive), or make for the inflatable climbing course at Wild Shore Delamere waterpark (20 minutes), where you can also take wakeboarding and paddleboarding lessons. For far-reaching views to the Peckforton Hills, climb up to Beeston Castle (45 minutes’ walk) on its rocky crag. Have an urban day out among the indie shops, Roman walls and Tudor half-timbered buildings of Chester, and if you’re bargain hunting, browse the fashion shops at Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks (both 35 minutes’ drive).
