With a memorable moniker that stands out as much as its splendid scenery, Cabbage Hall Park is a cracking place to lay your head when you’re in Cheshire. Surrounded by green countryside close to Tarporley, this is a peaceful and family-friendly site in a field with easy access to country walks; a wooded area is just next door for wanders through nature after setting up on one of the grass pitches for a weekend or longer. And that isn’t even the main highlight (especially if you’re a foodie). Pesto at Cabbage Hall, a restaurant serving fresh Italian food alongside a wide selection of real ale, gin and wine, is on hand to take your dins up a notch while staying here. Cabbage Hall Park’s also in a nifty setting for city day trips (or escaping from cities for countryside breaks). It’s close to motorway and rail networks and is a 25 minutes’ drive from Chester, 45 from Liverpool and an hour from Manchester. Elsewhere in the area, Oulton Park Circuit is a speedy five minutes’ drive away and days out in Delamere Forest can be had within 10. It’s also got all the handy amenities for when you come back from sightseeing, including a toilet block and chemical disposal. Barbecues are also allowed: pick up supplies at Tarporley, 10 minutes’ drive away or at the farm shop at Little Budworth, half a mile from the site.
