  • Peaceful and off-grid pop-up site 25 minutes’ drive from Buxton
  • Millennium Walkway five minutes’ walk; golf course five minutes’ drive
  • Kayak hire and alpaca-wedding on site; canal and river walks nearby
Looking for a wild camping experience with just that little bit extra on the Cheshire and Derbyshire border? Take a look at Disley Meadow, set in a lush valley 25 minutes’ drive from elegant Buxton – for here you can bed down amid stunning countryside, feed friendly alpacas and hire kayaks for adventures on the River Goyt or Peak Forest Canal. This is an untamed but welcoming space for families and friends, blending care for the environment with the sheer enjoyment of being out in the fresh northern air. The site owners are committed to providing unforgettable experiences for all guests, alongside a determination to preserve the natural environment. Their camping field has spectacular views towards the Peak District National Park, yet is a mere five minutes’ walk from shops for stocking up on supplies and well-reviewed pubs for eating out in Disley village. The site is within easy walking distance of more than one playground for young children, and within a 10-minute stroll of the site, there's also a service station with snacks in its shop, a free water tap and a coffee machine. Please bear in mind that this site is off-grid; bring torches and your own drinking water supply. There are portable camp showers to use on site, as well as a comfortable cubicle to shower in; you'll need to heat your own water if you want a warm shower (instructions will be provided).

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Nice setting, close to canal and village centre, with a friendly and helpful owner and some irresistible alpacas! Once it's fully established I think it will develop into a real favourite for cyclists and hikers.

Disliked A brand new pop-up site (we were among its first visitors), so still developing some of its facilities and accessibility.
