  • Adults-only rural touring park 10 minutes' drive from Northwich
  • Half an hour's drive from Chester, the zoo and Cheshire Oaks shops
  • Dog-friendly site with enclosed walking area and dog shower
You’ll actually not spot many lambs during a stay at Lamb Cottage Caravan Park… and that’s because infants of most sorts aren’t allowed at this adults-only touring park in the Cheshire countryside. That lack of little people running about means there’s a most peaceful vibe at this well-kept rural park 10 minutes’ drive from Northwich. The facilities have all been set up to make life stress free too: spacious serviced pitches have access to a motorhome service point, a laundry room (with washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing kit) and a bathroom block with toilets and showers. Barbecues are allowed for those who’d like to do a bit of alfresco cooking – and there’s a washing-up area provided to help deal with the aftermath. Kids may be asked to stay away but guests are welcome to bring along dogs as long as they promise to be well behaved and not cause menace to the rabbits, pheasants and other wild birds that roam around the park. A dog walk area is here for pups that like to run about at will, along with a dog wash for hosing down any mucky ones (with warm water, of course). There's also a dog-friendly pub 15 minutes' stroll away if you'd like to take them out for dinner¬ The rural surrounds lend themselves well to pursuits including walks, fishing and golf; if you’d rather make city outings it’s around half an hour’s drive to Chester and less than an hour to Liverpool and Manchester. For outing inspiration, swing by the site’s information room which has all sorts of guides to the local area (plus books and DVDs to borrow for evenings in).

Local attractions

Fancy a morning on the fairway? Or perhaps an afternoon of angling? Knock a few balls around at Sandiway Golf Club, five minutes’ drive from this park, or settle in with a rod beside one of the five pools at Flushing Meadows Fisheries (10 minutes away). To spend a stint with other sorts of animals, the birds of prey experiences and public displays at Cheshire Falconry are five minutes’ drive away as well. If you’re up for another off-the-wall attraction, the Anderton Boat Lift Visitor Centre – where you can see the ‘Cathedral of the Canals’ lifting boats and barges 50 feet up high in the sky – is within 15 minutes. Back down on the ground are walks around Delamere Forest (15 minutes) or Chester (half an hour) for the cathedral, Roman city walls and famed zoo.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked It was very easy route on the A556 then about 1 1/2 mile along Dalesford Lane, which is a good two lanes road to the site, so no problem. Entry onto the site was good and met upon arrival by Paula who advised where we could pitch our tourer, where all the site facilities were and a friendly welcome to Lamb Cottage.
The actual pitches were large and spaced to allow easy access onto our pitch and with greenery to the rear and plenty of open space, you did not feel at all cramped in.
The level pitch was hardstanding but with space to park our car and awning. Being a serviced pitch meant that we were soon hitched up to the water, electricity and the grey waste point.
There were additional areas for refuge, recycling, water and elsan waste, all clearly signed but discreet.
Central to the touring site was the toilet/shower building which also had a washing up section at one end inside with four washbasins. In addition to toilets and washing basins, there were separate cubicles more like an ensuite at home in which there was a toilet, washbasin and shower. We have never seen such a lovely facility like this before on a site. As expected, they were excellent and cleaned daily.

We had a lovely relaxed three days stay on this excellent site which was peaceful and quiet and we hope to return again in the future.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked this is a very well kept site with verry friendly and helpful staff, the grounds were well looked after and the toilet block was verry good with your own bathroom cubicle when you want to get showered, there are 3 of these in the gents and two separate WC's, there is a handy little shed near the toilet block with all sorts of information for out and about and an abundance of DVD's to borrow if you should want, board games etc etc

Disliked there is also a few sheets for walks from the campsite one of which mentions debris and mess alongside a wall if you do this one make sure you have decent hiking boots or wellies as there are a few boggy areas and one small boardwalk that has collapsed that you will have to navigate, not to mention a few felled small tree's, i kinda got the feeling someone was trying to make the walk as awkward as possible. all in all a fantastic site, the internet and mobile phone connection was terrible, and the Lamb cottage Wifi was verry hit and miss

Liked Upon arrival the lady was extremely pleasant an very helpful.
We pitched up and it was so tranquil and the people were very pleasant
The amenities are very good and I like that everything is in 1 cubicle.
There is a info shack also with plenty to keep you amused with books and Dvds.
This is a very well kept and lovely site and we will be back.

Disliked The only very very slight negative was the dog walk area as very small and due to the time we were there we didn't explore but maybe this is our fault for not asking.
WiFi is also hit and miss but you can't please everyone.

Liked We had a wonderful stay and will 100% be returning to stay again, the site was so peaceful and pitches and all the facilities were well maintained and clean. We particularly liked how each shower room was like a small en suite and warm.
