What customers say

This marina site offers a peaceful and well-maintained setting with spacious, level pitches. Visitors praised the excellent, clean toilet and shower facilities, the friendly and helpful staff, and the on-site cafe. Its location by the canal provides lovely walking opportunities, and the marina itself is a point of interest. While most found the site excellent, a few noted the cost, distance to facilities, and the site's primary focus on the marina.

Bell tent (four person)

Liked The bell tent was comfy, spacious and well kitted out. Nice showers

Disliked Not sure I’d call this glamping! No running water on the field and no picnic tables/outdoor furniture. Several times I used the toilet (which was in another field) and there was no toilet paper. Cold water only in the dishwashing sinks. Our bell tent was completely surrounded by prickles and nettles - and they knew we were bringing a 3 and 5 year old, who both got stung and scratched multiple times.
Service at the waterfront cafe is pretty poor. We ordered 4 meals but only 3 arrived and one of them was not what we ordered. We then waited another 20 mins for the missing piece of cheese on toast and the replacement meal. And was greeted with a attitude when I went to ask if our food was coming - our 3 year old had to wait 45 mins for his cheese on toast

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (premium)

Liked Lovely place with fantastic facilities. The marina and cafe area is also lovely.

Disliked Put some electric hook-ups in the camping field so that awnings can be pegged properly. The hard standings are pure gravel and concrete and you cannot get a peg in the ground! Gravel is also not a good idea for a ‘quiet’ trip to loo at night!

Bell tent (four person)

Liked Lovely bell tent, all ready for our easy check in.
All clean and bedding all made up
Lots of room between glamping tents and nice and quiet.
Toilet a block was really good - just need to check toilet rolls if busy as Sunday morning most were empty.
Cafe was nice
Really liked the Saturday sounds - although other activities were way too pricey to tempt us which was a shame

Disliked Cafe shut too early- maybe open till aft teatime.
A lot of wasps - although that is difficult to control?
Shop could be stocked a little more with a few food options for the glamping/camping

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely quiet setting, exceptionally clean toilets and site generally. Level pitches on well maintained grass. Range of walks around the area. Very good value for money. Will definitely come again!

Disliked Not a dislike but a possible future negative…not sure 8 toilet/ shower units would be enough if the site had been fuller!

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (premium)

Liked Great pitches. Well laid out. Lovely cafe. A geat duo were playing while we were there, this created a brilliant atmosphere and they were great.

Disliked The steps up to the toilets could be more disabled friendly. It's a shame the disabled shower is in the main area away from the pitches. It's a bit embarrassing going through the cafe before and after your shower.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked This was my first solo travel with my 9 yr old daughter. This place was perfect, staff arrived to my pitch to switch on electric as soon as I parked up. The cafe was lovely and clean , friendly staff and reasonable prices (I expected it to be a lot dearer). We watched the live music whilst having our tea on the Saturday next to the aqueduct which was lovely. The toilets/showers were nice and clean and well lit at night which was great for a lone female traveller like myself. There was nothing for children (as in entertainment, park etc) but we brought lots of games as i didnt want a big entertainment place, we played on the grass , we had walks, this was about having some peace, spending quality time together. My 9 yr old on return has asked when we can go again 😊

Disliked The only thing I disliked which was out of anyone's control was the wasps. Next time ill take a little citronella candle to keep them away

Local attractions

Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park's Cheshire location and easy access from the M6 means it's in a most handy spot to get to heaps of tourist attractions around this part of the north west and Chester. A popular option in the area is Oulton Park, the racing track in the little village of Budworth that bills itself as the most picturesque track in all the land, or you could hike around the wilds of nearby Delamere Forest, or stick to lazy days and potter around small Cheshire villages like Tattenhall and Tarporley. Chester is also easily accessible from the caravan park and has heaps to see among its old streets and swish shops. Animal fans make their way to Chester Zoo on the outskirts of the city to see as many as possible of its 12,000+ animals and over 400 species; if nature is your animalish thing, also get along to the Blue Planet Aquarium and its 100 or so living displays including the biggest school of sharks in Europe. Green fingered? Clear the car boot and drive over to Bridgemere, one of the biggest garden centres in the world and with all things gardenlike as well as toys and clothes in its mammoth shopping centre.
