  • Spacious Cheshire touring park with pitches on hardstanding and grass
  • Delamere Forest 10 minutes' drive; Sandstone Trail close by
  • Dog-friendly site with woods for short walks; food pub five mins' walk
Exploring the Cheshire countryside on foot is an excellent idea – and you’ll be well placed to do exactly that when you stay at Fishpool Farm Caravan Park, a modern site a few minutes’ drive from Kelsall. The trails of Delamere Forest are an easy 10-minute drive from this site, and you’ll also be able to walk sections of the nearby Sandstone Trail, climb Old Pale Hill… or just walk to the local gastropub, five minutes’ walk away. And walking isn’t the only option for a bit of outdoor activity – cycling, horse riding, golf, an aqua park and a Go Ape adventure course are all within 10 minutes’ drive too. Fancy something else to fill your days? How about checking out some local farm shops, taking a wander around Tarporley (five minutes’ drive away) or setting off to Chester (25 minutes) for its characterful city centre, its racecourse and its ever-popular zoo? Back on site, you’ll be staying on a hardstanding pitch that’s also got a grass area to make it easy to put up an awning or to provide a comfy picnic spot. Shared facilities include a bathroom block with a washing machine and Elsan point, and you’ll also have access to wifi. The site entrance is guarded by a barrier for security, and the park has a wooded area that’s great for dog walks, short strolls and places for kids to play.

What customers say

This new campsite offers a fantastic location with spacious, fully serviced pitches. Visitors praise the cleanliness and maintenance of the site and facilities, as well as the friendly and helpful staff. Its proximity to Delamere Forest and a highly-rated pub are significant advantages. Whilst some minor issues remain due to ongoing upgrades, such as limited children's play areas and some dated facilities, these are generally not deterring guests from returning.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked The site was absolutely perfect in fact it was spot-on very clean very neat and very safe.
And very friendly staff too.

Disliked It is not the site’s fault, but it is situated right next to a road and unfortunately through the two nights that we stayed there was more traffic than I anticipated would be going through it, so a bit noisy really.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Generous pitch sizes

Disliked Confusing as to what land belongs to each pitch. Originally we were allocated pitch 34 which is right next the the entrance barrier and in our opinion shouldn't be a pitch. That said, It's a new site and they are learning but also very helpful and moving pitches was not a problem thanks to Shelley and we will be back there soon. Location wise it's a tad remote but the Fishpool Inn is only a stones throw away from the site and it's gorgeous. I am surprised that with it being a new site that the amenities block seems not new and each facility i.e. chenical disposal, laundry, showers etc. all have different key codes but thankfully none were locked whilst there. We did the walk to Delamere Forest which is probably just under 3 miles and flat. For the pub goers, there's also the Vale Royal Abbey Arms approx 1 mile away.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Brand new little site with big fully serviced pitches. Very secure and very easy check in process. Staff lovely and facilities spotless. Fishpool Inn just next door which is a massive plus. Little onsite walk for the doggies too.

Disliked Toilets etc are a little dated and some of the locks didn't work on the showers but apart from that nothing at all wrong with them and when we told the girls they said they'd get onto it straight away. Wifi not great but looks like they're working on that.

Local attractions

Delamere Forest (10 minutes’ drive) must surely be on your schedule at some point during your stay – there are 2,400 acres of fabulous ancient woodland here to explore, with bike trails and walking trails galore, including a Wallace and Gromit trail and a Gruffalo trail. The forest also has a Go Ape adventure course and Segway rides, and runs a programme of special events throughout the year. For other outdoor activities, you could try the inflatable obstacle course at Wild Shore Delamere or play a round at Delamere Golf Club (both five minutes). The 34-mile Sandstone Trail also passes close by for more walks, taking in views of Peckforton Castle and Burwardsley, or you may prefer the more high-octane thrills of Oulton Park Circuit (five minutes). Over in Chester (25 minutes), you may like to take a tour of the city walls, visit the cathedral and Roman Amphitheatre or go shopping among the black-and-white buildings of The Rows. The city is also home to the Blue Planet Aquarium and Chester Zoo, and has retail therapy on hand at Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks.
