What customers say
This is a beautifully located, peaceful campsite, praised for its natural surroundings and friendly, helpful hosts. Pitches are often by a stream, offering tranquil views. While facilities are basic and some guests noted issues with cleanliness, outdated aspects, and limited numbers (especially for male facilities and showers), the overall experience is highly positive for those seeking a quiet escape and excellent walking opportunities. Campfires are permitted.

Liked This place is a hidden gem—peaceful, beautiful, and steeped in history. There are so many incredible spots to visit nearby. Though the camp area keeps things basic with simple amenities, it only enhances the site's authentic charm. We both thoroughly enjoyed our time here and are already planning our next visit.

Liked The site and surrounding area were absolutely beautiful.
The hosts were lovely and very inviting and supplied us with some lovely afternoon beverages. Absolute best sleep on a campsite so far as it is so secluded that the night is silent. Would definitely come back

the perfect escape from everyday life
Non-electric grass tent pitch (no cars, solo)
Liked I recently spent a night at Ponden Mill Campsite and, honestly, if I could give it 15/10, I would! It’s one of the best campsites I’ve stayed at.
I had the perfect pitch right next to the little stream, which made the stay incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The surroundings are beautiful, the site is well maintained, and the facilities were clean and had everything I needed.
What really stood out was the atmosphere - quiet, friendly, and surrounded by stunning countryside. It felt like the perfect escape from everyday life. I only stayed for one night, but I wish I could have stayed longer. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful camping experience.

Well situated, beautiful and peaceful
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Beautiful site, overall well maintained and cared for. Fantastic location for enjoying a peaceful stay away from the hustle and bustle. Very fair price for the location, type of site and facilities.
Disliked Only a single male toilet cubicle and one shower for the whole site whilst the women’s toilets had 3 stalls. Shower floor was frequently dirty/muddy, providing a squeegee for guests to dry the floor would make a big difference! Minor things but addressing these points would make it a 10* stay for me.
Adding optional electric hookup to the camping field would also be beneficial since there is already a multi point bollard near one end, our stay was during a heatwave and had we been able to take a fridge we would have made less trips to the local shops.
