Em va agradar Lovely site with lovely owners. Its a small site next to a stream. We took our children with us and they really enjoyed playing in the stream. They do have WiFi at the house. There is no signal otherwise. Lovely peaceful site though with lovely views. We had food out at a local pub so it is close enough to howarth to go eat and explore. We also saw a lovely white barn owl, lots of sheep and some hedgehogs at night. Bring your binoculars if you come and stay.

No em va agradar I would say the shower does need updating and more shelving in there to put your clothes and bags. Toliets need more lighting.

Em va agradar Nice quiet peaceful location. Previous reviews not really fair from what I've seen. Don't expect amazing facilities, but the were clean and serviceable. Nearest pub shut but straight out the gate follow signs right over bridge for millennium walk to next village, 2 pubs, kids park and easy bus to Howarth

Em va agradar We really loved it at Ponden - beautiful surroundings, kind owners, and one of the loveliest walks we've ever done (a walk from the campsite up to Ponden Kirk and back around to meet the reservoir). Watch out for the midges in the evening - you're by a small stream so they're inevitable in the summer.

Em va agradar The vibe, atmosphere and personality of this site shine through in every little corner. There must be a lot of love for this place by the admirably friendly people who run this site. Facilities are clean and the owners think about where its best for you to pitch creating pockets of privacy on a relatively small site. There are little secret spots in the paths winding down which feel like a fairytale and feed curiosity. There is enough to explore in the surrounding villages. We recommend taking the steam train. Great footpath and walking area’s nearby.

No em va agradar There is only one shower on site so I guess it will ask of guests to time their showers and as there wasn’t a table or baby change we had to get a little bit creative getting our 10 month old baby dressed but… an under bed storage box did do a great job for a bath and the lid with a towel on worked as a changing mat on the floor. But really there isn’t anything to dislike, just some things that would make life a tiny bit easier.

No em va agradar The campsite facilities are unacceptable . To start, the ladies toilet were dirty the toilet seat was broken and did not sit on the toilet correctly it was obvious they weren’t cleaned on a regular basis. The shower cubicle was disgraceful there was a quite pungent smell of damp and again hadn’t been cleaned regularly there was a shower mat on the tray which was disgusting. Because of the above I declined to use the shower just as well we were only there for two nights. The chemical disposal point was horrific I opened the lid and saw it was half full and blocked I felt I was unable to use it. We won’t be returning

No em va agradar Where do I start, firstly I am not in the business of trying to ruin people’s livelihood however how on earth does this site get an 8 + rating is beyond me. Our two “ hard standing “ pitches were patches of grass next to the stream one at 90 degrees to the other and a stones throw from the car park. To be fair the one pitch was quite nice but the other adjacent to the road leading to the tent field was less than private and with a not pleasant view of the frequently busy car park. We could accept this no problem as we were only there for two nights but what was totally unacceptable in my opinion was the state of the facilities. The one male toilet was constantly dirty, ( the floor was muddy ) did not appear to have been cleaned throughout our visit, there was no running hot water just a cold tap with a very grubby sink. There was no way I would entertain washing or cleaning my teeth there. That brings me onto the one shower available, I am not fussy by any means but one step inside and the musty damp smell that’s hits you made me avoid it for the duration of our stay, the sealant around the base was black and I dread to think when the shower head was last renewed, a hygeine issue waiting to happen. Serious money needs to be spent completely renovating the facilities they really are not acceptable and are by far the worst we have experienced in our many years of camping. We will not return and I can’t in all honesty recommend this site to anyone please do not believe everything you read in the reviews as I did

No em va agradar Very hard standing for an awning. No grass pitch as advertised, only for tents. Public walk was not passable due to thistles. Chemical waste was blocked. No signal at all. Lots of midges.
