  • Well-maintained serviced pitches near the village of Epworth
  • A 20-minute drive to Yorkshire Wildlife Park; 40 mins to Clumber Park
  • Access to three fishing lakes, including a 2.2-acre specimen lake
If fresh air and fishing are the mainstays of your holiday plans, you’ll be in a good spot at Fourways Fishery, a rural South Yorkshire spot about 10 minutes’ drive from the village of Epworth and half an hour east of Doncaster. There’s plenty of space to relax here, with the park stretching out to 12 acres and a further 18 tree-filled acres just next door. The pitches here are well maintained and well equipped, with water and electric connections along with a picnic table for easy outdoor meals and drinks. A shared toilet block is available but please note there are no showers at this site. There are lots of ways to fill a day or few around here, including riverside walks by the River Trent, trips to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park or outings to various country estates. Local villages of Haxey, Owston Ferry and West Stockwith all have pubs, and are handy places for things like shops and takeaways too. However, the highlight is, of course, the fishing, which takes place at three day-ticket ponds including a 2.2-acre specimen lake. The lakes are all well stocked and peaceful with lovely landscaping all round, so they make an excellent place to while away an afternoon or two. Meanwhile anyone whose attention drifts a little from the lake can head off to meet the site’s alpacas – a herd of six live in a stable in a large fenced area, and they’re available to meet or even sometimes go for a walk with.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Loved everything about this place. It’s amazing, the man who owns it is so friendly and helpful. Your pitch has hard standing and grass along with a picnic table to enjoy your food and bushes for privacy. The surroundings are fields it’s so peaceful and quiet. There are three fishing ponds to choose from and you’re able to buy pellets at £2.00 per bag if you need them. I caught a 14lb carp but there are bigger fish we’ve been told. If you have any questions the owner is more than happy to help if you give him a call. We are booking again very soon for definite. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Disliked: It isn’t a dislike as such but the toilets are a fair walk away from the pitches so if you struggle walking for example you will need to go round in the car.

From the manager: Glad you had a great time with us , some fabulous pictures to show you did! Thank you for your comments , most kind ! The current toilets are a 1minute 45 seconds walk away or less if you cut through around the 1st fishing lake We will be building a brand new toilet & shower block soon! Thank you .

Non-electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Absolutely fabulous pitch, very flat and large. Fishing lakes, toilets and pitches are very accessible. Fishing day ticket discounted for people staying on the site. Honesty box for the day ticket with pellets for sale. Great sized fishing pegs. Owners and staff friendly and come round on an evening to make sure everything is OK and encouraged any feedback for improvements. We made a suggestion for a ramp to the grey waste, previously there was a little wall so it was difficult to lift the waste water barrel over the wall and they've now taken the wall down and put in a ramp. 5 stars thank you.

Disliked: Nothing at all

Liked: Lovely site nice place to stay will be better when electricity is available so make it a more enjoyable stay.

Disliked: Toilets were a long way from pitches

From the manager: Happy you enjoyed your stay with us ! I noticed you ticked to say you would stay again & also recommend to your friends….. Likewise all our other reviews say the same !! It is a beautiful place a fantastic get away in the countryside with an added bonus of fishing! However I am most bemused with your 6 out of 10 for cleanliness???? & 8/10 overall…. I employ 6 people to keep this site extremely tidy! I dare say you wouldn’t find a cigarette butt dropped anywhere!!! Also the toilets are actually a 1minute & 45 seconds walk away …… I thought I’d amuse myself and time it! All my other reviews are 10/10 and we strive ourselves to consistently keep up sharp appearances and keep people happy! I agree the site would be better with electricity that’s why we have spend £106,000. to have installed…. Currently 3/4 way there! Yes this is outrageous but for my plans to develop this 30 acre site with a restaurant, lodges , caravan pitches hook ups I have no choice. Regards.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Everything. Clean, well maintained, beautiful site. Brilliant owners, lovely views. We were able to camp together (3 tents, 3 families) quite separate from anyone else. We loved it. Beautiful lakes and wildlife. Electricity being installed. Very reasonably priced!! Will be back soon! Perfect get away from busy life!

Disliked: Sad to hear of other campers leaving without paying the owner. They put so much effort to keep a lovely place.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Lovely comments….. really glad all three families enjoyed your stay with us! A very relaxing time for you all & a happy stay. Yes , I’m too trusting at times…. Even helped them jump start their car due to them flattening their car battery! - well they won’t be allowed to stay again…lol Hope to see you again!!

Non-electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Friendly and relaxed welcome. Quiet site with excellent fishing facilities. Ideal for the pleasure angler, bring carp tackle as there are a few beauties to be caught. Night fishing also available on the specimen lakes All services up to standard, no complaints, tents/campers and caravans all catered for. Priced very reasonably, I will definitely return.

Non-electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: We have stayed here previously and returned for another great stay! This site is a very pleasant peaceful happy place to stay. The pitches are good sized, flat and have a lovely privacy border. The stone blockers at the back of the pitches have quirky items in them so keep your eyes out. There is a toilet block which is very clean and well kept - this is shared between the fishers and the campers at the moment. There are plans for a toilet and shower block for the campers soon. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming including the other fisher people and are happy to offer some great advice and tips - thank you :-) The site has a number of ducks, geese and alpacas. They are all very well looked after and you can even hand feed them. Fab stay and look forward in coming back.

From the manager: Lovely to have this friendly couple visit us again, three times so far…we aim to please ! A great break away from busy life / work in the countryside camping & fishing! Always have lovely comments to say thank you I’m sure we will accommodate you again……
