  • Family-friendly Northumberland touring site with luxury facilities
  • Holy Island 25 minutes’ drive and Alnwick Castle 35 minutes
  • Soft-play centre and games field; restaurant and adults-only bar
Plush Ord House Country Park is set on 42 peaceful, tree-lined acres of private parkland at East Ord, within 10 minutes’ drive of gorgeous Northumberland countryside, historic Berwick-upon-Tweed and sandy Spittal Beach on the North Sea. It’s also easy to access for anyone travelling north or south, as the main A1 is just five minutes away. A whole bunch of facilities at this leafy, landscaped site will make life very easy for you indeed. Travelling with the kids? If your toddlers have energy to burn off, there’s a soft-play centre where they can have a run around, while older kids can keep busy on the playground, activity area and games field. If you’re after a bit of grown-up downtime, simply drift off to the elegant adults-only lounge bar for some peaceful R&R; otherwise head to the family-friendly main bar or book the informal Ord House Lounge Bar and Grill, where there’s a designated kids’ zone. Prettily landscaped pitches are all neatly delineated by clipped hedges. Practical on-site amenities include a laundry service with coin-operated washing machines and dryers, a dish-washing and veg-prep area, and pristine tiled showers in spacious family bathrooms with hair dryers and shaving points.

What customers say

This immaculately kept site boasts luxurious, modern bathroom facilities, often described as the best ever seen. Guests praise the spacious pitches, friendly staff, and excellent on-site bar and restaurant with reasonably priced food. The convenient location for exploring Berwick and surrounding areas is also a highlight. While some noted issues with pitch levelling, WiFi costs, and a lack of dog-friendly options in the bar/restaurant, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors eager to return.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Well placed for exploring Northumberland, clean and comfortable facilities and lovely tree lined walk around the edge of the park. We especially enjoyed the takeaway service, which saved on cooking in a small camper van.

Disliked While dog-friendly, there wasn’t anywhere we could go and have a together in the evening.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Clean and tidy, well kept gardens and grass.
A pleasant walk into Berwick upon Tweed.
Award winning toilet/shower block is very nice.
Ord House is very well preserved, has a nice bar and grill with very nice food.

Disliked Internet "Tourer WiFi" does not work.
Pitches are not level so, be prepared to use levelling blocks both sideways and back to front.
Many many static caravans.
The best pitches are already taken by permanently pitched tourers.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Well kept site. Clean and tidy. Amenities are good.

Disliked Premium pitch cost £44 a night. Which is at park entrance. You get water and a drain. To some thats worth it, to me, overpriced. Park is more about the static caravan sales and less about tourers. But a lovely site, just not for me. Costs to get wifi etc.

Mighty Bamburgh Castle (25 minutes’ drive) is open for guided tours, while Alnwick Castle (35 minutes) is famed for its exotic Poison Garden and Harry Potter film locations. You can nip across the causeway to Holy Island (25 minutes) and tour the castle and cathedral, or stretch your legs on a wander around the 16th-century walls of Berwick-upon-Tweed (five minutes). Sneak across the border into Scotland to potter around rooms stuffed with priceless Chippendale furniture at Palladian-era Paxton House (10 minutes), or make for Marchmont House to wander its wondrous gardens (half an hour). Spectacular Floors Castle (40 minutes) has a series of opulent apartments to discover, along with a walled garden and scenic walks along the River Tweed. Experiencing cultural overload? Sail forth onto the North Sea for dolphin-spotting expeditions or Farne Islands cruises to see puffins and seals from Seahouses (35 minutes). Happier on dry land? Stride out in Northumberland National Park (25 minutes), or play a round of golf – there are a couple of courses in less than 10 minutes’ drive.
