  • Exclusive-use glampsite five minutes’ drive from Amble, Northumberland
  • Low Hauxley Beach five minutes’ drive, and Alnwick Castle 25 minutes
  • Luxury bell tent with woodburning stove, outdoor kitchen and firepit
So you want to be alone? You certainly will be at Warkworth View, a peaceful Northumberland base where you can just arrive at your solitary glamping tent, unpack and get down to the serious business of holidaying. Kitted out with a woodburning stove to keep you snug at night, the tent is set in the grounds of a Grade II listed house. With peaceful leafy views over the tree-shaded camping field, there’s little around to disturb you except the birdsong – and do keep an eye out for the wild parrot as it flits through the trees. The spacious bell tent interior is equipped with a comfy double bed, a chair and some storage. A portable loo is tucked into the neighbouring wood cabin alongside a sink and a small outdoor kitchen. There is also a firepit, outdoor seating area and barbecue (pick up provisions in Amble, five minutes’ drive away), as well as alfresco seating for warmer days. There’s plenty to do round and about, what with Low Hauxley Beach being only five minutes’ drive, and a whole cluster of well-known castles (Alnwick, Warkworth and Bamburgh for starters) within 40 minutes by car. If you’d prefer to abandon the car on your Northumberland expeditions, the Number 18 bus stops less than a minute’s walk from the site’s gate.

Bell tent

Liked: Owners were absolutely lovely and more than helpful. The yurt was spotless and beautifully presented, Kitchen area was clean and tidy aswell as the portaloo. Nice peaceful field to yourself, we had a little evening fire, watching the wild rabbits. Close to quite a few different places and beaches.

Disliked: Not a massive issue but having to ask for access when needing a shower (again owners were very accommodating!)
