What customers say
This basic, back-to-basics campsite offers stunning views and a peaceful escape in the Yorkshire Dales. Visitors praise the friendly and helpful owners, spacious pitches, and proximity to local pubs and walking routes. Facilities are described as clean and adequate for short stays, though the walk to the single toilet is noted. Many highlight the remote setting and lack of phone signal as positives for a digital detox. Potential visitors should be aware of the basic nature and the ford/stepping stones for access.

Liked Campsite owner (Cheryl) sent a text with directions before arrival - very helpful. Perfect views, absolutely idyllic and very quiet. Toilet a couple of minutes walk from the field. Two pubs in walking distance - CB definitely worth a visit for a drink but book for food. Definitely stay here again.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Lovely views from the site and some decent walks around.
Pitches were fine with plenty of space.
Site was very peaceful and slept like a log.
Spot on facilities
No signal but i prefer being off grid 😁
Disliked Only tiny flaw in my opinion was the trek to toilets through the night going over the stepping stones and going over the wall or gate to get through.

Liked Perfect pitch for a short stay.
Clear directions provided by the site to gain access.
Amazing views from the field! Weather was beautiful for our one night stay.
Walking distance to The Red Lion (to be aware, this has limited opening hours) and The CB Inn, we sampled both.
Would definitely return but as no shower would be for a single night only.

Cheryl, the owner, got in touch after booking with clear instructions for the location and how to access the site, and shortly after arrival, came and said hello, told us about the area, and advised us on footpaths and the options for getting to the two local pubs.
