What customers say

This basic, back-to-basics campsite offers stunning views and a peaceful escape in the Yorkshire Dales. Visitors praise the friendly and helpful owners, spacious pitches, and proximity to local pubs and walking routes. Facilities are described as clean and adequate for short stays, though the walk to the single toilet is noted. Many highlight the remote setting and lack of phone signal as positives for a digital detox. Potential visitors should be aware of the basic nature and the ford/stepping stones for access.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Really loved this site. Very minimal, which I loved. Just a field in a valley. Tap water by the gate and bins nearby to get rid of rubbish. Toilet a short walk next to the farm house. That's it. Very quiet, amazing views, will definitely go again.

Disliked No shower, but that's fine because I got one of those portable ones you use with your own bucket.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Basic but nice quiet site in lovely surroundings. Top quality food at pub 15mins walk. Good communications from hosts prior to arrival.

Disliked Not a problem for us but worth noting no Mobile signal. Got WiFi at the pub though.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Lovely views from the site and some decent walks around.
Pitches were fine with plenty of space.
Site was very peaceful and slept like a log.
Spot on facilities
No signal but i prefer being off grid 😁

Disliked Only tiny flaw in my opinion was the trek to toilets through the night going over the stepping stones and going over the wall or gate to get through.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Absolutely loved this site, main field a little busy so let us stay in 6 acre field only one other camper there. Access to 1 toilet with a sink. We were in a tent on this occasion. Hope to return either in our camper or in our defender 90 with tent. The farmer and his wife were super friendly and were a pleasure to talk to.

Disliked Couldn’t find fault!

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Perfect pitch for a short stay.
Clear directions provided by the site to gain access.
Amazing views from the field! Weather was beautiful for our one night stay.
Walking distance to The Red Lion (to be aware, this has limited opening hours) and The CB Inn, we sampled both.
Would definitely return but as no shower would be for a single night only.
