What customers say
This is a quiet, adult-only site with good-sized, level pitches and clean, warm wet room facilities. Its main draw is the excellent location for accessing York via a bus stop directly outside the entrance. The on-site cafe receives consistent praise for its food and friendly staff. Some visitors noted issues with site maintenance, particularly during wet weather, including potholed access roads and muddy conditions. A lack of visible staff or formal reception was mentioned, with self-check-in being standard.

Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked We stayed 5 nights at the site in early March. Pitches were large, fairly level, stoned, with water and electric nearby. Good distance between each pitch, with maintained grass. Shower/toilet were individual, spacious and well heated. Wash-up area outside but covered. Great cafe next door, good prices, good cooked breakfast and lots of cake. Number 40 bus runs 1/hr weekdays but last bus back is 1910hrs. However, taxis available c. £12. Lovely to listen to the bird song. Little traffic noise with pop top up. No one on site but telephone number if service required. Pitches not pre-allocated. Would definitely recommend.
Disliked Most of the pitches were taken up by longstay/permanent caravans, which made it feel empty/quiet.This obviously varies depending on the weather/season. Toilet block at one end of long site and therefore long walk if your pitch was at far end of site. All minor points compared to all the positive points, so wouldn't put me off returning.
