  • Small family-run site under the Hambleton hills
  • Secluded and level with uninterrupted views
  • Café, shop and homemade cakes
This is a small, family-run site, set on the former Husthwaite Gate railway station, under the Hambleton hills and the famed White Horse at Kilburn. The site is secluded and level, well sheltered but with great uninterrupted views over the local landscape. The owners welcome groups and extended families. The owners have been moving everything on site towards a sustainable energy strategy; their philosophy is to reuse and recycle. Amenities include an electric shower and a toilet facility (using green electricity from the on-site wind turbine). Play your own part in eco proceedings by purchasing wood on site to fire up the large wood-fired hot tub for a relaxing sesh. There's also a small shop and honesty café area with basic supplies such as beans, local sausages, fresh farm eggs, bacon, drinks, ice creams, sweets and chocolates. There is also tea, coffee and homemade cakes for you to try.
