  • Peaceful rural site on a 120-acre working farm in Sinnington
  • On the edge of the North York Moors under an hour's drive from York
  • Walking trails around the farm for gorgeous Ryedale views
If you're the sort whose ideal rural break features not only heaps of peaceful space and gorgeous views but also a pub within walking distance and a bare minimum of narrow lanes to negotiate, Cliff Farm Holidays could well be the one for you. Access to this North Yorkshire site is pleasingly easy – just take a very short detour off the A170 and you'll be rewarded with 120 acres of working arable and beef farm. There’s stunning scenery at every turn, and the folk here have made the most of their Ryedale views by setting up walking trails around the farm leading to some of the prettiest corners. Walking’s also a great way to get to the nearest pub, a mere 15-minute stroll away in Sinnington, or to take in the trails of the North York Moors National Park, whose boundaries are a mile or so away. To grab a fish supper or stock up for your evening barbecue, it's a 10-minute drive to Pickering’s shops, supermarket and chippie. Days out can be any combo of coast, country and city that you fancy concocting: the seaside’s 45 minutes’ drive away at Scarborough, and York's historic streets are just under an hour away. Stately homes, animal park, heritage train rides and adventure parks are all in the local area, too. Facilities on site include a toilet block with showers and an accessible/family bathroom, a laundry room and a covered washing-up area. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you but must be on a lead at all times; there’s a dog run and mess bin provided.

What customers say

A well-maintained and peaceful working farm site offering spacious pitches and excellent, clean facilities. Visitors praised the friendly and helpful owners, beautiful countryside views, and convenient location for exploring the North York Moors and coast. Farm walks are a highlight. Electric is metered with refunds for unused credit. Some noise from farm animals is expected. Recommended for a relaxing rural break.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch

Liked Lovely welcome - thank you. Beautiful campsite on a working farm with great views of rolling North Yorkshire countryside. Facilities were immaculate and the hot water was immediate in the shower and the washing up area. And there are three walks being cared for from the site- we did the longer 40 minute one which had great views east and then a short part on the disused historic LNER railway line. It was all very impressive.

Disliked One thing to mention - the main road to Scarborough is a couple of fields away to the north and there is some vehicle noise through the night - so if that bothers you take some ear plugs. But its not a big deal.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch

Liked It was ok, nice walks , friendly staff, clean toilets and amenities. Village pub great .

Disliked It boring. Pitch was really bad. Had no chance of levelling a motorhome, needed to be about 2 foot higher at front. Got out of bed and ended up running through van , it was so steep

From the manager: Good morning and thanks for your comments, we are surprised you found pitch 13 not to your liking as it is one of our most popular pitches for its location and levelness and many people request it for those reasons.
We're sorry you found it boring on the one night you were here, at teatime we were playing skittles and also that evening we were doing Pizzas for our guests.
