Looking out onto toilet block and garage. Difficult to get to with long van some really tight turns but doable with care. No one to welcome you onto site and direct to plot. Number just went to answer phone. Allowed on by other guest.

Difficult access, lots of permanent residents, facilities clean. 04/12/2017

  • Liked:

Toilets were very clean, heated, and secure.
My Wife had a fantastic hot bath, in a nice warm atmosphere.
The site Manager was very helpful, and offered his services at any time, having said that we never saw him again over the weekend.

    Disliked:

Access to the site is very difficult lots of sharp 90 degree turns, with external residents parking in the very narrow road, forcing you and your outfit toward walls etc.

The site roads are made up of gravel and a shale material, making conditions filthy at this time of year. I would liken the conditions to that of a scrap yard.
Very little lighting at night, the only light was on the toilet block which is operated by a PIR and only stays on for a few minutes. Filling water containers, emptying waste and walking your dog has to be done via torch light. Giving an overall feeling of insecurity. Please use LED lighting, it is environmentally friendly and could reduce costs by 80%, in turn reducing possible injury caused by tripping and falling.

This site would appear to be predominantly residential with the usual ill maintained pitches with green covered caravans and awnings, planters and lots of Christmas lights, making newcomers feel very uncomfortable, even though they are penned off they still use vacant pitches to park their vehicles and interfere where they are not required, watching these people reminds me of a zombie movie, alienating newcomers, please pay more attention to visitors as they are the "bread and butter" of the camping and caravanning industry.

Although the pitches are not classed as "Super pitches" some of the visitors take it upon themselves to connect a hose pipe to the water supply directly to their unit, making it very awkward to fill your containers without asking permission.

The pitches are oddly shaped with no lead in for your unit, this in turn damages the grass raising maintenance costs, make the pitches wider and the same width throughout, with an additional lead in, and please get rid of the small gravel it just gets carried over into your unit.

Permanent residents allowing their dogs to foul around your pitches, absolutely disgusting. Please put a stop to this practise.

Washing up area very unclean with used dish cloths and green scrubbing pads which have probably been there all year, Legionella breeds in these, put notices up and ensure this area is kept clean at all times.

Farm machinery driven through the site, very dangerous.

Garage business operating from within the campsite, very strange and dangerous practise, children could access and be injured.
