What customers say
This peaceful, back-to-basics campsite offers stunning views of Whitby Abbey and the sea. Pitches are well-spaced in overgrown fields, providing privacy and a natural feel. Guests praise the friendly, accommodating hosts and the well-stocked honesty shop. While facilities are basic, including a compost toilet and a washing-up sink, they are generally well-maintained and appreciated for their eco-friendly approach. Wildlife, including barn owls, is a highlight for many. The site is highly recommended for those seeking tranquility and a connection with nature.

I took my 3 children camping…
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked I took my 3 children camping at Coast and Camp light for 2 nights in the tent field and we all had a wonderful time. We loved the wild feel of
the pitches and my children adored playing hide and seek in the long grass. The site is peaceful and in a great location, close to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. We had plenty of space to spread out and relax/play. My youngest loved the chickens and they kept her occupied whilst I washed up in the little outdoor sink. The “honesty caravan” was fab too. Beacon farm ice creams were a winner! The owners are friendly and welcoming and we all can’t wait to return for another camping trip. Oh and a big thank you to Ed for jump starting our car when I accidentally drained the battery. Lifesaver!
