Coast and Camplight

Syntes om First time at coast and camplight staying in the Northern skies safari tent and we will be returning! Lovely quiet spot surrounded by nature. I've never been one for camping but this is the way to do it!! Comfortable beds, cosy log burner, outdoor kitchen and your own shower room and toilet. The tent had everything we needed and had some really nice touches like binoculars (great for watching the barn owls), hot water bottles and every kitchen utensil you could think of. There's no place to charge a phone in the tent but we could recharge the power bank at the honesty shop/caravan and we did get some signal which we weren't expecting. It's a great location for some lovely walks along the Cleveland way and great coastal views. 5 mins drive one way to Whitby or 5 mins the other way to Robin hoods bay. Supermarkets not far away, just as you get into Whitby to buy food etc.
We stayed 3 nights but could easily have stayed longer, we will be booking again soon for next spring :)

Syntes om Absolutely lovely little rustic quirky place. Off grid camping with comfort. Cooking on the campfire griddle is an experience and resulted with some lovely food. You can really relax and chill out on a night sat by a campfire or laying in the hammocks. If you have a clear sky you can see the stars at night whilst relaxed in the hammock. The owners are very friendly and really helpful. You can tell a lot of thought and effort has gone into every aspect of the accomodation.

Syntes om It was a cheap place to pitch a tent, had a toilet and was very quiet.

Syntes ikke om I hadn’t realised that all the nice things in the description and photographs weren’t actually applicable if you just pitch your own tent (other than that there would be no access to showers). If you are pitching your own tent be aware that it is in a separate field, across the road from the main campsite. The field has one toilet and nothing else.

Syntes om The Field & a field it is, has nice spaced pitch's
The view over looking the coast and Abby are fantastic in the distance.
Out of the way enough from Whitby to be quiet but more than close enough to head in for the day.

Syntes om A beautiful campsite with stunning views of Whitby and it's Abbey. The campervan /tent field is well-spaced, with composting toilet and regular sightings of the barn owl sightings. The honesty shop stocks a range of snacks, drinks and ice creams. Ed and Verity are great hosts and the flexible check-in and out times mean you can make the most of your stay. Looking forward to visiting again next year.
