  • Peaceful and family-run site next to the Forest of Bowland
  • In a walkers' paradise near the Yorkshire Three Peaks
  • A variety of pre-ordered homemade pizzas on Saturday evenings
These routes are made for walking… Orcaber Caravan and Camping Site is in the Three Peaks area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park for hikes up Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent, and right next to the wanders and strides of the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Many more walks and footpaths start directly from the site; get a map from the site information office to show you on your way. Based at the village of Austwick and five miles from the market town of Settle on the edge of the national park, Orcaber is a peaceful and family-run site, set among outstanding scenery with horses and sheep grazing in the neighbouring fields. Dogs are welcome (on leads on site at all times please) and a big field with stream is allocated as a dog walk area on site. Pitches at Orcaber are large, flat and well drained. Facilities include separate ladies' and gents' showers with plenty of hot water; toilets; a freezer with coolbox ice packs, and an info room with details of local attractions, events – and those many local walks. A variety of pre-ordered homemade pizzas are available on Saturday evenings.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The site was very easy to get to from the A65. Very well kept site and facilities. Showers 50p but you got 10mins with plenty water pressure and controllable heat. The lady on reception was very friendly and offered us a choice of pitch as the pitch we had booked was shaded. The pitch was a great size with a picnic table which was very handy. Great wifi on site.
Fair sized enclosed field in which our dog could be let off the lead. Home made pizza available on Saturday night. Wish we had been there for that...All in all a great site in a great location for touring West Yorkshire which we would gladly come back to

Disliked Nothing about the site that I didn't like other than we weren't staying longer

Excellent site.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Nice large flat pitches, some picnic tables for everyone to use, plenty of toilets/ showers and always clean and refilled. Countryside is amazing and village only a short walk. No noise after 11pm is stipulated politely when checking in by a very friendly member of staff and from what I saw this is well respected.

Disliked A bit larger a site than we’d normally stay at so you lose a bit of personal contact with other campers, but site itself very well run

Stunning, will be coming again

Liked What's not to like, shop with everything you need if you forgot or broken, pizza if you can't be assed cooking, area for kids to play football in the centre, clean and well kept area.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked The location is great, in the goldilocks zone just far enough from the main road to feel away from it, but not so far that getting anywhere is a 20 minute trip down a single track road. A well stocked shop and easy, clear instructions upon arrival. The facilities where great, spotless toilets. Saturday night pizzas were fantastic. The football goal with a net was a massive bonus for my son.

Disliked The weather but there was nothing Orcaber could do about that unfortunately.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so happy to hear that you were impressed with what we have to offer here at Orcaber Farm. We hope you don't leave it too long to come and visit again and we will try and sort the weather for you.

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Facilities were immaculate, excellent sized pitches in a gorgeous location. The food available was lovely and really reasonably priced. The enclosed dog walking area was perfect and the nice seated area next to the river was lovely. As someone who gre up at harness racing in Scotland it was a total highlight getting to watch them train on Sunday morning and show my daughter what I used to help do.

Disliked All things outwith the campsite (weather 🤣 mainly but the sun did shine on pack up which was helpful)

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review and share your photographs with us.
It sounds like you had a great time experiencing what we have to offer our guests and we love that your daughter was able to get an insight to what you used to do.
Glad to hear that the sun shone for you and we look forward to seeing you again in the not too distant future.
Kind Regards

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The facilities were super clean, pitches had plenty of space with each one having it's own picnic bench which was a great addition.

The shop was well stocked with dogs well catered for including dog ice cream.

The site is well placed for walking and cycling, as well as trips to nearby towns such as Settle and Skipton.

The pizza on a Saturday night was yummy.

There are fire pits on offer. We got one with a bag of kindling and was £8 total for our stay.

The showers are 50p but you get ample time and they are powerful and hot so more than happy to pay a bit extra.

Will definitely be returning.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a detailed review of our site. It sounds like you had a great time with us and made the most of everything that we have to offer here at Orcaber Farm.

We like to look after the fur kids (dogs) and its great to see the wagging tails when they get their ice cream which is proving very popular.

We look forward to seeing you on your next visit.
kind Regards

Local attractions

The Three Peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent in close range are a topping location for walkers – if you're here to hike, see if you can complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to tackle the 24 miles around all three in one day. Orcaber Caravan Camping Site is also near the famed Ingleton Waterfalls Trail for woodland-based walks among spectacular northern scenery, and within easy driving distance of the waterfalls, stalactites and tours of the spectacular White Scar Caves, the longest show cave in the UK. Also recommended by the Orcaber team are the Settle to Carlisle railway line, through 73 miles of spectacular countryside through the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines, and passing splendid Ribblehead viaduct. The limestone formation of Malham Cove, a famed Yorkshire Dales beauty spot, is also a popular local spot. Yet more walks, hikes and heaps more spectacular scenery are at the Lake District National Park, about an hour's drive away.
