  • Peaceful and family-run site next to the Forest of Bowland
  • In a walkers' paradise near the Yorkshire Three Peaks
  • A variety of pre-ordered homemade pizzas on Saturday evenings
These routes are made for walking… Orcaber Caravan and Camping Site is in the Three Peaks area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park for hikes up Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent, and right next to the wanders and strides of the Forest of Bowland, a National Landscape. Many more walks and footpaths start directly from the site; get a map from the site information office to show you on your way. Based at the village of Austwick and a 10-minute drive from the market town of Settle, the site is a peaceful and family-run site set among outstanding scenery, with horses and sheep grazing in the neighbouring fields. Dogs are welcome (on leads on site at all times, please), and a big field with a stream is allocated as a dog walk area on site. Pitches at Orcaber Caravan and Camping Site are large, flat and well-drained. Facilities include separate ladies' and gents' showers with plenty of hot water; toilets; a freezer for ice packs, and an info room with details of local attractions, events and those many local walks. A variety of homemade pizzas are available on Saturday evenings from 5pm to 8.30pm from April to early September; these can be pre-ordered from seven days before.

What customers say

This well-maintained site boasts exceptional facilities, including spotless toilet and shower blocks. Guests consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, spacious pitches, and convenient on-site shop. The location is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, with numerous walking opportunities. Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Great facilities Good site had a nice walk into Clapham which was a mixture or field and road to get there.

Disliked Toilets were average in cleanliness although it was busy so hard to keep on top of as there were a lot of people staying.

Sadly there was a group of kids and Parent who had no care for others vans and property as they continually played with every form of radio controlled vehicle some of which were fine but draw the line at a plane which kept hitting people and their vehicles. The Parent had no care so sadly neither did the kids they also ran a remote controlled buggy capable of very fast speeds knocking other children over and skidding stones which also hit cars and vans. Im no kill joy but I would of thought the management would of said something as my wife commented and was told to she was being grumpy after asking politely if they could move to the field provided and away from our vehicles which they hit on 2 separate occasions.
Sadly this put a downer on our stay and probably wouldnt come back for this reason alone. The site was great but try mid week and out of school holidays would be my advice if your a couple but for kids can't fault it

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Shower blocks and toilets clean and had a hair drier
Coffee machine was handy
Shop was reasonably priced
Music while having a shower 🫶
Fire pit and logs available

Disliked Noise it was really busy first night it appeared the children were excited and wouldn’t sleep but not the campsites fault.

No play area for children - I’d come back with my family although they’d appreciate a park/ games room of some sort.

No food Friday to order would be convenient to be able to order for once tent was up. We was motorcycles camping so packed basics

The limestone formation of Malham Cove, a famed Yorkshire Dales beauty spot, is also a popular local spot. Yet more walks, hikes and heaps more spectacular scenery are at the Lake District National Park, about an hour's drive away.
