Route directions

We do not recommend that you follow the satellite navigation guide for the turning off the B6265 from Ripon. Although it states "Not suitable for caravans" visitors still attempt to use it. Please take the next turning right showing a brown sign for Woodhouse Farm and directions to Grantley. From Ripon: Take the B6265 Fountains Abbey/Pateley Bridge Road. After three and a half miles take the right turn at the Grantley signpost. At the first fork bear left to Grantley. Down through the village of Low Grantley to the T junction. Turn right towards Kirkby Malzeard. Take the next right to Winksley. We are the first farm down this road on the left. From Pateley Bridge: Take the B6265 Ripon road. After approximately five miles at Risplith take the left turn signed Grantley/Kirkby Malzeard. Drive through Grantley village and take the right turn signed Winksley. We are the first farm, three hundred metres on the left.

Local attractions

Our many facilities include:- 2 fishing lakes (which are free to use) & woodland walks. Cycle track around the park – ideal for children. 2 children’s play forts & a play barn. Licensed restaurant. Shop selling groceries & camping gas. Fully serviced toilets & showers. Well equipped laundrette. Disabled Facilities Woodhouse Farm is ideally located on the edge of Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales. Nidderdale is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Yorkshire Dales is one of our National Parks. There are a number of outdoor activities which the whole family can enjoy together with some great places to visit for a day out :- Mountain Biking - In addition to the short cycle track around the park (ideal for children), there are some great rides on both roads and tracks across the moors. With mountain biking becoming more popular there are designated routes across the countryside and they can be found on www.mtbthedales.org.uk. Woodhouse has a number of favourites and we would be pleased to arrange a group ride if there is enough demand; secure bike storage is also available. Please contact reception for more information. Woodhouse Farm is an active supporter of the Annual Milk Stout Ride, held every year in September. We always provide a team and you are welcome to join us by contacting reception. [Cycle photos courtesy of www.prorideguides.com] Walking - There are plenty of walks around the farm leading up into the moors and narrow lanes of the unspoilt countryside. The area is surrounded by farmland with grazing cattle, sheep and plenty of wildlife including rabbits, hares, pheasants and deer. Ask at reception for directions to a few varied walks. Fishing - Woodhouse has two coarse fishing lakes with Common, Crucian and Mirror Carp, Rudd, Chubb, Roach and Perch. There is also fly fishing available at St Georges Court, just a few miles away and we would be happy to make arrangements for you on request. Horse Riding - The local countryside is perfect for hacking and pony trekking and we recommend two stables nearby. Masham Riding Centre and Bogs Hall Stables both offer excellent facilities for experienced and novice riders. Golf - There are plenty of good golf courses around Ripon and we would be pleased to provide more information on request. Two local ones are Ripon City Golf Club and Masham Golf Club.
