What customers say
This is a friendly, welcoming campsite with a popular on-site pub offering good value food. Pitches are generally spacious and level, with a lovely play area for children. While facilities are basic and some visitors noted they could be cleaner or better maintained, the overall experience is positive with many recommending the site for its relaxed atmosphere and convenient location for exploring the area. Noise from the pub can occasionally be an issue for those on nearby pitches.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Nice size pitches we had an electric tent pitch near the pub, pub served excellent food and drinks it was busy so toilets seemed to run out loo paper quickly lol site was very tidy and staff were helpful would visit again

Good cheap camp with facilities, friendly and hot food, beer.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Decent little site and for £15 I honestly cannot grumble I used for the night with my wife as we were passing through. Site was quiet and staff and landlady very welcoming and pleasant. We had a few drinks and food and it was reasonably priced. I’ve stayed at worse places for a lot more money. It’s cheap priced, probably the cheapest pitch up by far with facilities. Toilet was clean, shower was being refurbed but the disabled toilet had a shower and was a good size.
Free WiFi in the pub but unfortunately didn’t reach my van.
Vale of Pickering campsite just up the road does a cracking breaky you can just enter the site great to stop for the onward journey.
Disliked Lots of wasps but in their defence the whole country is horrendous at the moment.

Good basic site.
Electric grass pitch
Liked We stayed here for a week in a trailer tent along with two other families who were allowed to pitch next to us. The electric hook up pitches were a good size, ground was easy to peg out.
The site is very basic with 2 mens toliets, 1 ladies, 1 shower and a disabled toliet/shower. But for the price we was expecting much.
The play ground was excellent and the kids enjoyed it.
We had no noise issues from the pub or other campers. I liked the later 11pm noise curfew.
The location of the site is great for visiting Whitby, Scarborough, the forest, Flamingoland and Eden camp.
I enjoyed the site and would come back. The food at the pub was decent. It also had WiFi.
Disliked Wasps were a pain but it seems to be the same everywhere at the moment.
Only one ladies toilet and the shower was out of action for half our stay so had to use the disabled one. It just meant a bit of a wait in the mornings. Also toliets could be doing with more frequent checks as they keep running out of loo roll.

All okay for a pub stop over.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Nice little site, facilities basic but perfectly useable. The pub has Black Sheep ale which was a bonus.
Disliked Pub food was okay, like the site a bit basic but edible. Avoid the fish as mine was a bit odd looking like it had been frozen for a long time or not very fresh.
