Three acres of woodland to scamper around is an enticing enough prospect anywhere, but in the case of Lahtlewood Glamping this comes with the added bonus of a nifty North Yorkshire location in the Vale of Pickering, on the edge of the North York Moors and 20 minutes from the coast. The A64 is handily close by here, but it’s most certainly not all about getting out and about – this glamping site is pretty splendid in its own right. Peace and space are in good supply at this off-grid site, where pods have been set up in little woodland glades. There's no electricity, but each one has its own alfresco kitchen, barbecue, firepit and outdoor table and seating. The site’s fully fenced with no cars around the pods (you’ll wheel your kit over in wheelbarrows) and a ball game area, so kids and dogs can run about in safety. All has been designed to make life as easy and comfy as possible: each pod has its own ‘Scrub Shack’ with toilet and wood-fired hot shower, and there’s a shared barbecue hut seating up to 10 for folk who’d like to gather under cover. Oodles of little extras are covered, from the saucepans to the dishcloth to the lighter, plus charcoal and logs for the shower and barbecue; all you’ll need to pack is your clothes, towels, wash bag and some food and drink (ideally sourced from the market town of Malton, which is 10 minutes’ drive away and a popular foodie spot). If you fancy having someone else sort your dinner, there's a fab local pub 20 minutes' walk away that welcomes dogs and kids.

Pheasant Grey 1 bedroom camping pod (four person)

Liked Absolutely loved our 3 night stay at Lahtle Wood Glamping. We stayed in a 4 berth pod in Pheasant area. Sarah gave an amazing friendly welcome.
Loved leaving the car in the car park and transporting our stuff in the wheelbarrows. Due to the recent hot weather and fire risk, we were unable to use the individual BBQs but there is the central hut which can be used and the pod had a 2 ring stove to cook on. We managed and was an excuse not to cook and eat out!!!
Beds super comfy and cosy. Loved planning our day, heating our own boiler to have a shower. Was really nice having our own scrub shack. The site is really peaceful and quiet at night.
Our boys went off to chill in the play area rooms and play football.
We had a look round the other huts and look forward to planning a weekend away to ourselves. Charging facilities available for charging our power banks and phones.
Love, love the site xxx

Peewit Blue 1 bedroom camping pod (six person)

Liked It was like stepping into another world. Just magical. Our first night we kept having butterflies land on us as the sun was setting. Honestly magical.

We loved the size of the site (4 main meadows, 16 huts total) and that cars were parked away from these. Wheelbarrows to move luggage down to huts worked really well. It was so perfect with our children being able to roam around freely and having a dedicated play area where they could go themselves and still be near to our hut was perfect for all of us.

Having a private toilet and shower with each hut is brilliant- we loved our morning ritual of heating up the water for the shower!

Fantastic location for a day trip to the beach.

We loved it and will be returning!

Liked The facilities were great! I loved that you had to do things your self like fire up the shower with fire wood and the same for the hotub. Beautiful little place off the grid really relaxing.

Liked My stay at this wood cabin was exceptionally pleasant. The atmosphere was incredibly conducive to relaxation, offering a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I particularly appreciated the sense of independence the cabin afforded, allowing for a truly private and serene experience. I would highly recommend this location to anyone seeking tranquility and autonomy in their travels.
