  • Family-run site a short walk from the village of Cherry Burton
  • In the Yorkshire Nature Triangle, three miles from Beverley
  • Eco-friendly site with modern facilities and wildlife pond
It’s not easy to choose between the buzz of a city break, splendid countryside views and seaside shenanigans… and why should you have to? Settle instead for a sweet spot that's got access to it all, at Cherry Burton Leisure Park. Set across six acres, this family-run East Yorkshire site is handily located for visiting Hull (a 20-minute drive) and the east coast beaches at Hornsea (25 minutes) and Bridlington (35 minutes). Cherry Burton village, a few minutes’ walk from the site, ticks off plenty of essentials – including a kids' park, playing fields, a small supermarket and a pub – and the surrounding villages host a selection of food and drink places, ranging from traditional to Michelin-starred (if you’re feeling fancy). For some fresh air, get yourself on one of the local walking and cycling routes (including the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Hudson Way) and explore the area at your own pace. You don’t need to be a pro, but Cherry Burton has been on the route of the Tour De Yorkshire several times, so you know you’re in for a good ride if that’s your thing. If you’re not a fan of the whole back-to basics-approach, worry not, for the facilities at this place (including accessible showers and toilets) are modern ones… and eco-friendly too, with LED lighting and solar panels for minimal environmental impact. Keep an eye out for wild critters as you wander – they're fans of this place (and no wonder, given that they're well supplied with bird and bat boxes, feeding tables, hedgehog tunnels, bee hotels and a wildlife pond).

What customers say

This campsite boasts excellent, modern, and spotlessly clean toilet and shower facilities, often described as the best seen. Visitors highlight flat, spacious pitches with on-pitch water and electric, and a friendly, helpful staff. The on-site marquee bar with food and entertainment is a popular feature, and the location offers easy access to Cherry Burton village and Beverley. Some minor issues noted include occasional road noise and occasional limited availability of food and drink, with ongoing development work mentioned by some.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Our stay at cherry burton was great.
The staff were friendly.
The bathroom facilities are lovely, modern and clean.
There is a very reasonably priced bar there with food and music on an evening. I think it was open on a morning for breakfast buns etc but I can’t comment because we only used it on an evening.
The campsite was a good mix of lodges, glamping, vans and tents.
It was only a 15 minute walk into the village of cherry burton and about 40minute walk into Beverly ( both on the hottest weekend of the year, so maybe less when it’s cooler)

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked The person who helped me was very kind and calm and arranged my refund quickly and easily. The site looked nice and when I used the toilet facilities they were great and clean.

Disliked I turned up for a peaceful and quiet night camping as a solo female and found I was to pitch my tent next to a marquee where a 21st birthday party was happening with live music until midnight. I wasn’t aware of this when I booked. I asked if I could leave and get a refund and they gave me my money back quickly and easily.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked On site bar , individual bathrooms, water at the pitches

Disliked Some road noise but can’t do anything about that .
No buses at the weekend from Cherry Burton which again out of the campsites control.
Grey waste drop could do with an AKO drain as 2m from glamping gate.
Door to pedestrian access , code not available .
Maybe a flyer with the code and what’s on in the bar with opening times would be good. This is purely meant as constructive comment as we generally love the site

Local attractions

The historic market town of Beverley is three miles away – feast your eyes on the impressive Beverley Minster, a real gothic masterpiece, or wander to North Bar, a 15th-century brick-built defensive gate. When history class is dismissed, it’s over to the Westwood, a big open space ideal for picnics and post-lunch strolls. Beverley's also known for its racecourse, so a day of watching the gee-gees is an option; non-horsey types might prefer to hit the shops at the Flemingate complex, where there’s also a choice of eats, a cinema and an inflatable theme park. The site is within the Yorkshire Nature Triangle, so wildlife experiences are a must. Wander around Tophill Low Nature Reserve (a 20-minute drive) to spot otters, dragonflies and birds of all shapes and sizes, or visit North Cave Wetlands (25 minutes) – its six lakes and numerous bird hides make it a popular place for twitchers. If that’s up your street, you might want to stop off at Bempton Cliffs reserve (45 minutes), where around half a million seabirds gather between March and October.
