  • Family-run site a short walk from the village of Cherry Burton
  • In the Yorkshire Nature Triangle, three miles from Beverley
  • Eco-friendly site with modern facilities and wildlife pond
It’s not easy to choose between the buzz of a city break, splendid countryside views and seaside shenanigans… and why should you have to? Settle instead for a sweet spot that's got access to it all, at Cherry Burton Leisure Park. Set across six acres, this family-run East Yorkshire site is handily located for visiting Hull (a 20-minute drive) and the east coast beaches at Hornsea (25 minutes) and Bridlington (35 minutes). Cherry Burton village, a few minutes’ walk from the site, ticks off plenty of essentials – including a kids' park, playing fields, a small supermarket and a pub – and the surrounding villages host a selection of food and drink places, ranging from traditional to Michelin-starred (if you’re feeling fancy). For some fresh air, get yourself on one of the local walking and cycling routes (including the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Hudson Way) and explore the area at your own pace. You don’t need to be a pro, but Cherry Burton has been on the route of the Tour De Yorkshire several times, so you know you’re in for a good ride if that’s your thing. If you’re not a fan of the whole back-to basics-approach, worry not, for the facilities at this place (including accessible showers and toilets) are modern ones… and eco-friendly too, with LED lighting and solar panels for minimal environmental impact. Keep an eye out for wild critters as you wander – they're fans of this place (and no wonder, given that they're well supplied with bird and bat boxes, feeding tables, hedgehog tunnels, bee hotels and a wildlife pond).

Toilets very clean , always toilet roll.

Disliked Had to make bed up , no bedding on when we arrived.
Very basic bell tent . No bunting or twinkling lights !!
Not much space between neighbours.
One bench on decking , no parasol or other chairs to relax on .
Food stopped at 8 pm.
Went to get a take away breakfast in the morning, to find one member of staff cooking taking orders and serving !
Waiting 20 minutes just to take my order !!

Powered grass tent or RV campsite

Liked The facilities here a 5 star, and the onsite clubhouse was a pleasant surprise. Good priced drinks and Beverly was a pleasant stroke, with a decent sized Tesco’s. Site is very clean and staff are very friendly.

Disliked No privacy between pitches very open plan and on top of your neighbours. No internet on site and phone signal is pretty poor.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Our first trip out in our new motorhome and Cherry Burton didn't disappoint.
Easy to find, nice flat site and we were met by 2 lovely young men and shown to our pitch.
They showed us the EHU & fresh water point on our pitch, Which was a great size.
The shower blocks are all individual with fantastic walk in showers, toilet and modern wash basins..a massive plus for me.
There is a marquee tent which is the bar and eating area, we didn't use it, but the music was good, a good dose of 80s & 60s.
There is a fast road outside the site, but this didn't bother us at all.
We were there for Summer Solstice and had a lovely evening watching the sunset
Lots of Red Kites soaring over too x
A very quiet and peaceful site, highly recommended

Disliked The grey waste disposal was rather awkward to get to, with a 8m motorhome, but with hubby being a HGV driver, it was ok for him

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The shower and toilet block were the nicest I've seen - as good as any hotel. Lots of room between pitches.

Disliked It was a little too open for my liking. I was a little tent in a vast field.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Amazing bathroom facilities, free live entertainment, peace and quiet. Lovely site just outside Beverley, which is gorgeous to explore with the minster, loads of shops and cafes etc. We were lucky to have warm, dry weather, too.

Disliked Issues with booking through PitchUp – got sorted but the site manager didn't have us on his booking system and someone else had taken our pitch when we arrived. We were still accommodated (and in a better pitch in the end), but still not ideal. If we stay at Cherry Burton again (which we will!), we'll book direct to avoid this.

Tulip 1 bedroom microlodge

Liked Lodge was first class and very reasonable at the price.

Disliked unfortunately I had a fall in the shower, a non slip mat might of prevented this.

Local attractions

The historic market town of Beverley is three miles away – feast your eyes on the impressive Beverley Minster, a real gothic masterpiece, or wander to North Bar, a 15th-century brick-built defensive gate. When history class is dismissed, it’s over to the Westwood, a big open space ideal for picnics and post-lunch strolls. Beverley's also known for its racecourse, so a day of watching the gee-gees is an option; non-horsey types might prefer to hit the shops at the Flemingate complex, where there’s also a choice of eats, a cinema and an inflatable theme park. The site is within the Yorkshire Nature Triangle, so wildlife experiences are a must. Wander around Tophill Low Nature Reserve (a 20-minute drive) to spot otters, dragonflies and birds of all shapes and sizes, or visit North Cave Wetlands (25 minutes) – its six lakes and numerous bird hides make it a popular place for twitchers. If that’s up your street, you might want to stop off at Bempton Cliffs reserve (45 minutes), where around half a million seabirds gather between March and October.
