  • Family-focused holiday park in a scenic countryside setting
  • On-site fishing lake and loads of activities to entertain the kids
  • Close to plenty to do on the East and North Yorkshire coasts
Skip to see – and stay at – this holiday park on the sandy East Yorkshire coast: it's likely you’ll love it. Skipsea Sands Holiday Park is in a scenic countryside and village setting near Driffield, but is only a couple of miles from the stretch of Yorkshire coastline between Flamborough Head to Spurn Point – with Bridlington in between – and within easy driving distance of several sandy beaches. It has its own fishing lake and lots of activities and entertainment to float any individual boat. Guests can be occupied day and night should they so wish: kids can work off energy at the adventure playground, chase a shuttlecock/football or rollerblade around the massive sports hall, before cooling off at the waterjets of the indoor pool, or going along to one of the many organised activities for all ages such as dance, football, water games and a club for the under-fives. There’s a small charge to use the sports hall and for a couple of other activities like ten-pin bowling and the intriguingly named aqua jets, but all other activities are free. Elsewhere on site, bigger guests have access to the well-equipped park gym, while all ages can pile into the Pavilion family clubhouse for drinks and snacks; there are two other bars on site, as well as The Sands diner with restaurant and takeaway. Evenings are properly covered with a range of glitzy entertainment from live music to family shows. Prefer to breeze gently through your hols rather than get involved in too much activity? A Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room are on site to bubble placidly at too, all included in your pitch fee.

What customers say

Many visitors enjoyed the spacious pitches, plentiful activities for children, and friendly staff. However, a recurring concern is the cleanliness and maintenance of the toilet and shower blocks, with some reporting cold water and a lack of hot water. Beach access is frequently mentioned as unavailable due to coastal erosion. Some guests also noted issues with noise and litter.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely welcome on arival by the reception girls,
Fantastic pitch, freshly mowed grass electric and water big enough for a campervan and large air awning .
Clean well looked after campsite .
Nice food in the campsite sports bar, quick service by the excellent staff 👌
Looking the entertainment ctr quite a few children dancing with the" haven" crew entertainers more adults waiting for the prize bingo to start.
Excellent haven site positioned right near the sandy beach ⛱ unfortunately no access due to the sandy cliffs erodeing into the sea which was disappointing but not the campsites fault at all .

Disliked Mother nature claimed the entrance to the beach .
Bus service to the local seaside town,s irregular and even worse getting back as the last bus from Hornsea was to early check the times b4 you go ataxia back was £18 ,

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Location is great, fantastic cliffside walk to the beach, although not suitable for anyone unsteady or who would struggle to keep balance. Not suitable for smaller children as cliff edge has come away so alot of narrower areas and access to beach itself down shallower cliffs.
Generally peaceful and mostly respectful campers.
Food is decent.
Staff all helpful and friendly.

Disliked Clear rat issue around the touring pitch, and obviousfrom previous replies that this has been an unaddressed issue for a few years.
Shower and toilet block isnt the cleanest, shower only stays on 4 seconds at a time (sadly timed as went off so quickly!)
Food order app doesnt work sometimes and ended up taking 3x lots of our money with no order and then had to pay a 4th time at the bar to make an actual order, very lucky that we arent that hard off. Moneys still not bounced back at the end of our stay (thurs to sunday)

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Was a lovely site and pitch was excellent with a bit of privacy

Disliked In the tourer site our electric box wasn’t working so I contacted reception and they said they was going to send somebody out. We waited three hours and nobody came so I went down to reception and apparently had not been logged and all the workman had gone home.
The receptionist said luckily we have an electrician coming about 6:30 pm to look at a caravan. I’ll get him to pop round.
He fixed it, but it wasn’t lucky for us because it should’ve been fixed ages before and we needed to plug our fridge freezer in. The shower block was dirty. The door was open all the time so the rain and everything was going inside making the floor really slippery and muddy.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Most pitches were service pitches

Disliked Facilities were the worst I’ve ever seen, don’t think they have ever been cleaned, grass not cut, generally run down. Very poorly kept especially for the price you pay. Sorry will never return.

Local attractions

The East and North Yorkshire coast is most visitors’ first stop, from the gannets gabbing at Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs to the seaside shenanigans and surfing of Scarborough. If it’s raining, take the kids to Terror Tower: its three floors’ worthy of grisly special effects should silence even the most horrifying sprog. Flit to fab Filey for five miles of beach, its funfair and the start of the Cleveland Way, and nearby Bridlington for the Bird of Prey and Animal Park and Bondville Model Village. Further along the coast, Goths and others love lovely Whitby; have fish and chips at the Magpie café after an afternoon seeing Whitby Abbey and the replica of HMS Endeavour. Inland yields loads to do too, with the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Park both within driving distance; as it’s Yorkshire, you’ll find stately pads, historic houses and museums of all bents easily accessible too. A good option for a city day trip is lovely York, about an hour’s drive away.
