All of Wold Meadow Glamping
Yurt and outside area
Outside area with firepit and barbecue
Yurt and patio area

  • Luxury glamping site on the edge of the village of Wold Newton
  • A 20-minute drive to east coast beaches at Filey and Bridlington
  • Private hot tub, bathroom and patio area with barbecue for each unit
Now how’s this for a bit of luxury? At Wold Meadow, on the outskirts of the pretty East Yorkshire village of Wold Newton, you’ll be staying in a luxury glamping unit with its own private wood-fired hot tub, ready for you to leap into whenever you fancy it… It’s just the place for a bit of sunset watching and/or stargazing – and the experience is further boosted by having bathrobes and prosecco provided (along with the first bag of logs). Those little touches aren’t the only ones, however – lots of things have been thought of here, including a log burner (again with the first bag of logs and kindling), an electric cool box and a kingsize bed made up with cosy colourful bedding. Lots of practicalities have been sorted here too, including a designated toilet and shower for each unit a short walk away. On the food front, there’s a kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery and glasses for each unit and a shared kitchen with a microwave, an oven and a hob, plus all the essential pots and pans. Whatever you choose to rustle up there can be taken back to your private patio area, which has a bistro table, chairs, a parasol, a barbecue and a firepit with fabulous views out over the surrounding Wolds. If you’d like a closer look at the Yorkshire Wolds, pick up the Wolds Way about three miles away for a walk or bike ride through lovely countryside and cute tiny villages. Meanwhile, if that’s a bit too far to roam, a short walk takes you down to the village to feed the ducks at the pond or sip a pint in the dog-friendly pub. One final luxury to mention… this is an adults-only site so you’ll have to leave the kids elsewhere…

Yurt (hot tub, private bathroom amenities)

Liked: Fabulous idea to offer individual bathrooms and this was a big hit with us. The site is very well kept and the views are amazing. The hot tub was a fabulous hit also.

Disliked: We were all very upset with the way Graham treat our mother and it made us all feel very uncomfortable throughout thereafter. We also had been kept awake the entire first night, which although was not at the fault of the owner, no communication was made with us until late evening the next day regarding the ongoing fire alarm that had been sounding for 7 hours.

From the manager: Hi
Thank you for your review-we're pleased you enjoyed the individual bathroom, the well kept site and the hot tub.
We're really sorry the smoke alarm caused disruption during your first night. As soon as we were aware of the issue early that morning, we resolved it promptly and took steps to prevent it happening again.
We're also sorry to hear the initial interaction with Graham left you feeling uncomfortable. That certainly was not our intention, and we're sorry if to came across that way. We always try to treat every guest with care and respect.
Regards Jayne

Aurora bell tent (hot tub, private bathroom amenities)

Liked: The grounds and area are lovely loved the private bathroom ordered the breakfast lovely produce and good priced

Disliked: I booked the bell tent but when I looked around the tent the woven floor smelt of dog wee and there was no log burner the owners couldn't meet us till five which was not a problem so we messaged them asking could we move to a yurt to which they said yes but when the owner turned up the was no introduction he just went into a rant saying why do you want to move surly you saw the pictures on line other people love it here and proceeded to throw the wood logs out the door and other things so I said to him if its a problem we wont move. I was so upset there where three available yurts. The yurts are freezing at night if you put the log burner on its unbearable when you close the door plus you cant keep it lit all night there is a small fan heater but it does not keep it warm so take plenty of blankets we didn't sleep it was so cold.

From the manager: Hi
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We're really pleased you enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, your private bathroom and the breakfast- we're proud of of the little touches that make it special.
We're genuinely sorry to hear other aspects of your stay didn't meet your expectations. We always want our guests to feel relaxed and well looked after, so its upsetting to hear otherwise and we're truly sorry for that.
Just too clarify for anyone reading: our bell tent does not have a log burner, and this is clearly stated on our booking information. The coir matting is part of the natural setting, the damp patch on the tent floor was caused by water being spilled, not a pet accident, whilst we do welcome dogs in our bell tent, we always ensure the space is thoroughly cleaned and fresh for each new guest.
Our yurts are traditional canvas structures and while we do our best to keep them cosy with log burners, fan heaters, hot water bottles, throws and blankets, they can feel cooler at night especially in the early spring and late autumn, if you do feel the cold maybe bring some extra layers with you.
Regards Jayne

Yurt (hot tub, private bathroom amenities)

Liked: Friendly park owners who were really helpful and responsive to our requests for logs. Yurts were warm, cozy with plenty of space and amenities. Kitchen area was lovely to meet people and the clean air fryer a big bonus with complimentary liners. Great to have a full sized fridge freezer for ice and milk too. Very peaceful just what we wanted. Prosecco a lovely touch plus the cakes and biscuits really made us feel welcome.

Disliked: Nothing it was all amazing!

Yurt (hot tub, private bathroom amenities)

Liked: Everything!!!! It was awesome!!!!
The hot tub was super relaxing and also fun to heat yourself.
Incredible views and 2 lovely sunsets
Soooo well equipped - everything you could think of from umbrellas to board games. The kitchen also had everything you could need including ketchup and brown sauce for your bbq.
Being seasoned campers (but leaving the kids for 4 nights) it felt like a real treat to have a bath room to ourselves which was spotlessly clean.
The lights above the bed and character of the yurt was relaxing and there were plenty of blankets etc if you did feel cold but we were fine.
I think it was better appointed than lots of airbnbs we have tried when the grandparents have the kids. Definitely the most relaxed we have felt.
The owners are also super friendly and welcoming

Disliked: We had to leave :-(
Hope to be back sometime!

Aurora bell tent (hot tub, private bathroom amenities)

Liked: Friendly host, there to greet us and show us around the site. Amazing view of the Yorkshire countryside and facilities including a fire pit, BBQ and a luxurious wood fired hot tub. We ordered the continental breakfast which came every morning warm and fresh. Great location within 40 minutes of some of the best walks in England. Would highly recommend the drinking dinosaur coastal walk, the hole of Horcum and the Mallyan spout walks. Complimentary bottle of Prosecco was a very nice touch to enjoy in the hot tub surrounded by fairy lights. The double bed and accompanying blankets were extremely comfortable and had no trouble falling and staying asleep. Each pitch has its own personal and private shower room with toilet and sink and there is a shared kitchen for washing up and even cooking on the hot plates if you don’t want to use the BBQ. Most importantly for us this is a dog friendly site and the host greeted our large dog as another welcome guest! 10/10 would stay here again in a heart beat.

Local attractions

Stepping away from your own smart abode, you may like to set off to see some of the area’s stately homes – perhaps the Elizabethan Burton Agnes Hall (15 minutes’ drive), Grade I-listed Sewerby Hall & Gardens (25 minutes), or Scampston Hall (25 minutes), surrounded by Capability Brown-designed parkland. If it’s coastal capers you’re after, head east to the beaches of Bridlington, Filey (both 20 minutes) and Scarborough (25 minutes) or pack your binoculars and see what you can spot at RSPB Bempton Cliffs (25 minutes). And how about boosting your luxury stay with some of the area’s top food and drink? A stop in Malton (half an hour) usually turns up plenty of tasty eats in the town’s many food shops, and a tour of the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery allows you to learn about the whisky produced there before picking up a bottle for nightcaps back by the firepit.
