  • Well-maintained holiday park set around a 12-acre lake
  • A quarter of an hour's drive from Hornsea beach; Hull 30 minutes
  • On-site restaurant; paddleboard, kayak and pedalo hire
There's a lot you can do when you stay somewhere with a lake. Holidays at such a spot can be as peaceful as they come, or you can opt for a break that's all about sports, outdoor activities and messing about on the water. So it's no surprise that both choices are on the cards at Dacre Lakeside Park, a well-maintained site on the edge of the East Riding village of Brandesburton. The pitches here are set around a spectacular 12-acre lake, which, as well as being scenic, is a hub for all sorts of outdoor antics. With kayak, paddleboard and pedalo hire, this spot caters to a whole range of holidaymakers on the hunt for a pleasant park near the Yorkshire coast. Bert's, Dacre Lakeside Park's on-site restaurant and takeaway, is also close by in a scenic location overlooking the water. Other leisure facilities on offer here include tennis courts, pitch and putt miniature golf and foot golf. The reception building has a bar, table tennis, pool tables and a beauty salon too, all of which are a short walk away from a spacious and secure beer garden. Dacre Lakeside Park is a pet-friendly spot, and dogs are welcome to join you on breaks here throughout the season. Guests bringing a four-legged friend won't be short of places to take them for walks, as this site is a 15-minute drive from Hornsea beach and within easy strolling distance of plenty of paths and trails.

What customers say

This park is highly praised for its spacious pitches, cleanliness, and abundance of activities for all ages, particularly the lake for water sports and the mini/foot golf. Guests frequently highlight the friendly staff, reasonable prices, and beautiful lakeside setting. However, some visitors noted issues with toilet cleanliness, occasional noise from the bar, and the condition of touring pitches. Despite minor drawbacks, many reviewers express a strong desire to return.

Liked Lovely park, we had a great stay thanks you. The lake and water sports were awesome, very reasonably priced too. Also had a great pub and restaurant too.

Disliked The option of an electric hook up tent pitch would be great. The WiFi was also very poor and only seemed to work near reception.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked I really liked the facilities at Dacre! Lots to keep the kids happy and all reasonably priced so we could do everything the park had to offer which was amazing!

The kids loved the wildlife! We came back late one night and saw hundreds of bunny rabbits in our field surrounding all of the tents & hopping about! This was such a beautiful sight and felt surreal! I’ve never seen so many in one place before & loved it!

Disliked One thing that upset me slightly was that the campsite stated no use of fire pits (which after seeing the wildlife, is completely understandable!) we didn’t bring one, however there was about three other campers that did and used them every night! Security at Dacre would do drive arounds, but never said anything to them which I thought this issue should be managed better!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great flat pitch with plenty of space. Toilets clean and fairly modern. Activities such as play park, mini golf, football golf, and kayaking within 3 min walk. All staff were very pleasant too. The onsite pizza restaurant was fantastic. We will be back!

Disliked Minor, but could do with a small shelf in the toilets above the sink for toothbrush and toothpaste. The pedalo didn’t steer very well!

Liked Dog parks were good as they were enclosed, they have mini golf and foot golf on site.

Disliked Didnt like the noise from bar area up to 12.30am, as our pitch was straight across from it, even though it was ment to be quite time after 11pm was told by a member of staff upon arrival (with it been a family site - site rules), staff werent bothered though and let it carry on till 12.30am when they decided to go home and leave site (they werent even staying there), someone also was using a circular saw at 12.30 am just before they all site, made me wonder if someone was pinching something, wasnt impressed. We ended our stay early and left.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Pitch sizes were large plenty of room for large tents and a game of rounders 🥰

Lake was perfect and reasonably priced if you have your own board but also you can rent them from the lake.

Crazy golf and foot golf again great courses fun for all the family and reasonable priced for a family of four.

Great enclosed dog park.

Icecream was beautiful.

Disliked Big holes in the ground all around pitches rabbit dropping everywhere.

Toilets could have been cleaned more regularly but it might have just been the times when I visited and would prefer a shower separate to the toilet or at least raised on a different level in the same area.

Would benefit from a small shop on site to sell bread milk ect.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked So much to do, restaurant is excellent & the setting is just beautiful. Stayed two nights. Kids loved it!

Disliked First night was so quiet & shared the field with 2 other tents.

Second night was busy & invaded by footballing teenagers. No issue with that however they didn’t look after the toilets & showers as well as campers should. Within a few hours of their arrival the toilets were a mess, they quickly got muddy & we’re not treated with care. I know this isn’t the sites fault but more regular toilet checks & cleaning would have helped.

Local attractions

If, after trying all the sporty facilities on site, you still haven't had your fill of outdoor life, you might like to spend a few hours on the greens at Hainsworth Park Golf Club (five minutes' walk), an attractive parkland course where there are 18 holes to play with. A little further afield, you can let the coast at Hornsea (15 minutes) and Bridlington (25 minutes) provide you with bucket and spade days, or head to The Deep (30 minutes), a huge aquarium in the centre of Hull, to find out what's swimming beneath the surface… It takes about an hour to get there, but the spectacular Spurn Heritage Coast – affectionately known as ‘Yorkshire's very own Land's End’ – is also well worth visiting for its birdlife and rugged seascapes. Dacre Lakeside Park is a well-connected place, so you can easily get out on day trips to handsome historic sites like the centre of York (an hour) or Castle Howard (an hour), one of the North's grandest stately homes.
