  • Well-maintained holiday park set around a 12-acre lake
  • A quarter of an hour's drive from Hornsea beach; Hull 30 minutes
  • On-site restaurant; paddleboard, kayak and pedalo hire
There's a lot you can do when you stay somewhere with a lake. Holidays at such a spot can be as peaceful as they come, or you can opt for a break that's all about sports, outdoor activities and messing about on the water. So it's no surprise that both choices are on the cards at Dacre Lakeside Park, a well-maintained site on the edge of the East Riding village of Brandesburton. The pitches here are set around a spectacular 12-acre lake, which, as well as being scenic, is a hub for all sorts of outdoor antics. With kayak, paddleboard and pedalo hire, this spot caters to a whole range of holidaymakers on the hunt for a pleasant park near the Yorkshire coast. Bert's, Dacre Lakeside Park's on-site restaurant and takeaway, is also close by in a scenic location overlooking the water. Other leisure facilities on offer here include tennis courts, pitch and putt miniature golf and foot golf. The reception building has a bar, table tennis, pool tables and a beauty salon too, all of which are a short walk away from a spacious and secure beer garden. Dacre Lakeside Park is a pet-friendly spot, and dogs are welcome to join you on breaks here throughout the season. Guests bringing a four-legged friend won't be short of places to take them for walks, as this site is a 15-minute drive from Hornsea beach and within easy strolling distance of plenty of paths and trails.

What customers say

This is a popular, well-maintained site with spacious pitches and a beautiful lake. Guests praise the friendly staff, numerous activities (mini golf, water sports), and on-site food options. However, some reviews mention occasional cleanliness issues in toilet/shower blocks and noise from the bar late at night. There's also a noted desire for electric hook-up pitches for tents.

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked We arrived at Dacre Lakeside very late (5am!), having dropped our gear box halfway down and had to wait a few hours for recovery by the AA. The recovery vehicle dropped us in a corner of the car park, as we couldn't identify the appropriate pitch, and didn't really want to disturb other residents.

Reception staff were very understanding, and having consulted with management, they were happy to let us stay in the car park for our remaining night, as the vehicle was immovable under its own steam.

Despite everything, we really enjoyed our stay, especially the pizza restaurant for breakfast. Very grateful for their understanding of our situation, and for letting us leave the van a night longer to be picked up for repair after we got a lift home!

Thankyou so much!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Watersports

Disliked *Toilets & showers block needs a referb, definitely not the best, and showers very cold, tried all 4 on different days and unable to get hot water in any.

*Pitches very close together

* loud noises, diggers, and banging from the factory behind the camping field, every morning from 6am not sure if this is part of the site or not

*WiFi very very poor, found it very hard to get a decent signal anywhere on site

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Good sized field for camping and the pitch size was generous.
The lake was great for activities with a good selection and the option to take your own equipment
Berts pizzeria onsite was really good and accomodating when we wanted to eat later on with a large group

Disliked The shower block could have been bigger, only 4 showers/toilets working for a field of 30ish pitches

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Amazing GF and LF options in restaurant and gelato.. wonderful staff, amazing crazy golf and foot golf. Only thing letting it down is no “arrivals” section for tourers and touring site shabby.

Disliked Quality of touring section and pitches. Toilets and showers were great, but rest felt very second rate compared to rest of site.

Local attractions

If, after trying all the sporty facilities on site, you still haven't had your fill of outdoor life, you might like to spend a few hours on the greens at Hainsworth Park Golf Club (five minutes' walk), an attractive parkland course where there are 18 holes to play with. A little further afield, you can let the coast at Hornsea (15 minutes) and Bridlington (25 minutes) provide you with bucket and spade days, or head to The Deep (30 minutes), a huge aquarium in the centre of Hull, to find out what's swimming beneath the surface… It takes about an hour to get there, but the spectacular Spurn Heritage Coast – affectionately known as ‘Yorkshire's very own Land's End’ – is also well worth visiting for its birdlife and rugged seascapes. Dacre Lakeside Park is a well-connected place, so you can easily get out on day trips to handsome historic sites like the centre of York (an hour) or Castle Howard (an hour), one of the North's grandest stately homes.
