There's a lot you can do when you stay somewhere with a lake. Holidays at such a spot can be as peaceful as they come, or you can opt for a break that's all about sports, outdoor activities and messing about on the water. So it's no surprise that both choices are on the cards at Dacre Lakeside Park, a well-maintained site on the edge of the East Riding village of Brandesburton. The pitches here are set around a spectacular 12-acre lake, which, as well as being scenic, is a hub for all sorts of outdoor antics. With kayak, paddleboard and pedalo hire, this spot caters to a whole range of holidaymakers on the hunt for a pleasant park near the Yorkshire coast. Bert's, Dacre Lakeside Park's on-site restaurant and takeaway, is also close by in a scenic location overlooking the water. Other leisure facilities on offer here include tennis courts, pitch and putt miniature golf and foot golf. The reception building has a bar, table tennis, pool tables and a beauty salon too, all of which are a short walk away from a spacious and secure beer garden. Dacre Lakeside Park is a pet-friendly spot, and dogs are welcome to join you on breaks here throughout the season. Guests bringing a four-legged friend won't be short of places to take them for walks, as this site is a 15-minute drive from Hornsea beach and within easy strolling distance of plenty of paths and trails.

Em va agradar The facilities, pub, the lake was great for cooling down in! The pizza from BERT’S was so nice, plus iced coffees!

No em va agradar The grass pitches for tents was good, there was a few holes and lots of rabbit poo. But didn’t effect our stay.

Plots were not marked very clearly either.

Em va agradar Not a great deal

No em va agradar Ladies on the desk not the most pleasant of staff or seem interested in tourers as obvious they are going for high end lodges ect fazing out campers however the blonde lady working Friday was very friendly & polite. On the other hand the younger male staff were very polite professional & even smiled . If your looking for a family friendly place to stay this is not it children have to be chaperoned at all times even to ask the price of things which we found bazaar we totally understood about around the lake area obviously but to be told you need an adult to ask for the price of crazy golf is a bit extreme

Em va agradar One of our favourite campsites this year and we have been lucky to go to a lot. Lovely beer garden and bar and restaurant and the lake was so accessible to enjoy outdoor fun .the park was great for the kids. Beautiful surroundings and lovely calm vibe. The weather was a bonus too and spent great days on the lake on out paddle boards. Lovely friendly staff

Em va agradar First time for us staying here and I thought it was absolutely great. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming when checking in and The camping field was big with plenty of room between pitches. It is not a far walk to the toilets/shower cubicles which are on the camping field and were reasonably clean depending on the time of day.
There was plenty to do for the kids on site and a good park too, but The lake was the highlight for us, especially as we could launch our own paddle boards/kayak for a small price. This made our weekend away and we spent most of our time here.
We ate in Bert’s pizzeria which I highly recommend. The staff are super friendly and the food was delicious. We didn’t go into the bar but it sounded like people were having a great time and we enjoyed listening to the music from our camping field.
This is somewhere we would definitely return to.

No em va agradar The only thing that is missing from this site is a shop that sells basics such as bread/milk. There is a shop 10 minutes away but we didn’t know this when we arrived.
No dislikes from us.

If, after trying all the sporty facilities on site, you still haven't had your fill of outdoor life, you might like to spend a few hours on the greens at Hainsworth Park Golf Club (five minutes' walk), an attractive parkland course where there are 18 holes to play with. A little further afield, you can let the coast at Hornsea (15 minutes) and Bridlington (25 minutes) provide you with bucket and spade days, or head to The Deep (30 minutes), a huge aquarium in the centre of Hull, to find out what's swimming beneath the surface… It takes about an hour to get there, but the spectacular Spurn Heritage Coast – affectionately known as ‘Yorkshire's very own Land's End’ – is also well worth visiting for its birdlife and rugged seascapes. Dacre Lakeside Park is a well-connected place, so you can easily get out on day trips to handsome historic sites like the centre of York (an hour) or Castle Howard (an hour), one of the North's grandest stately homes.
