Grass touring pitches
Grass pitches for motorhomes
Extra-large pitches on grass

  • Suffolk site with well-drained grass pitches on the edge of Snape
  • A 10-minute drive from Aldeburgh on the Suffolk Heritage Coast
  • Half an hour’s walk from Snape Maltings and three dog-friendly pubs
What a patch of land this is. Croft Farm Camping, on the edge of the village of Snape, is home to green fields with well-draining sandy Suffolk soil that holds up quite nicely even after wet weather. There are walks right from the gate – the Sandlings Walk, plus miles of trails across the coast, heathlands and countryside – and three dog-friendly village pubs within half an hour’s walk, all with seasonal menus suitable for a big appetite. What else might you want to know about this place? Well, the simple facilities include toilets, showers and chemical disposal, and barbecues are permitted. Dogs are welcome, and they should very much appreciate those local walks. The sea is only five miles away, too: Aldeburgh is the closest spot, just a 10-minute drive from the site, and forms part of the Suffolk Heritage Coast, which stretches for about 50 miles (with plenty of splendid shingle beaches and seaside towns to visit). Croft Farm Camping is about half an hour’s walk away from scenic Snape Maltings, where there’s a concert hall and just-lovely riverside walks. Those strolls can always end at one of the cafés along the river Alde; allowing extra time is always a good idea too, as there are independent shops and galleries to browse around. If you’re keen to get in some time on your bike, good news: there’s a cycling route along the Suffolk coast and waymarked mountain-biking trails (with pretty epic features like manmade bomb craters and sandpits) in Tunstall Forest, 15 minutes’ drive away, and Rendlesham Forest, 20 minutes away.

What customers say

This new, well-organised site offers a friendly welcome from hosts Tina and Richard, with helpful information packs. Guests appreciated the clean facilities including hot showers, spacious pitches, and a good dog exercise area. Its quiet, rural location is ideal for exploring local attractions such as Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh, with lovely walks nearby. Some noted potential busyness in toilet blocks and a lack of wind shelter on the north field.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Nice site , with a friendly welcome - well located for Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh and fairly close to Southwold and some gorgeous beaches. Good sized pitches , excellent dog exercise field.

Disliked Nothing to dislike, although I think the toilet blocks could become busy , so you might want to consider bringing a loo if you haven’t got on board facilities - that said they may be looking to expand this, the site is clearly very new

Liked We stayed for three nights with electric hookup, the site ws clean and tidy and the showers had hot water and were kept clean as well.Quiet from traffic noise and we'll situated for things to do with a pub not too far away.
A friendly welcome awaits you from Tina who shows you around and offers you an information pack to find local attractions and amenities.
We would stay there again if in the are.

Liked We both loved the information pack & maps on arrival … quiet, well laid out site. There are 2 shower rooms and 2 toilets that are super clean and well maintained. A lovely walk down to Snape Maltings where there is plenty to do.
