What customers say
This spacious and well-run site offers numerous activities for children and families, including a funfair, amusements, shops, and attractions. Staff are consistently praised as friendly and helpful, with many guests highlighting the plentiful space on non-electric pitches. While generally clean, some reviews mention that toilet and shower facilities are dated and in need of updating, and occasional issues with noise and wasps were noted. Despite these minor points, the site is highly recommended by many, who express a desire to return.

Great facilities, warm welcome, not the best facilities where I was.
 Electric grass pitch
Liked Massive site with lots of facilities, a sports bar (friendly bar staff & decent basic food), shops, next to an owl sanctuary so lots to keep you amused. I got stuck in traffic so arrived a few mins after the check in closed (about 5.10pm) so I called and a lovely lady came out to see me to a pitch in the pouring rain & dark. It was a lovely warm welcome & very much appreciated as a female solo first time camper.
I was shown to a pitch near the show ground area so that I was close to the sports bar which was perfect for me camping on my own so that I had somewhere to go for food & I was right next to all of the facilities I needed - toilets/showers/wash up/water etc.
Disliked Unfortunately, the facilities in this area didn’t quite hit the spot as I never got any hot water for a shower (maybe bad timing as it was late afternoon/evening) or washing up and they were not super clean at times. I was made to feel bad when I came back to my pitch on the 2nd day by someone who said they lived on site wanting to put his caravan there. He looked quite put out & then proceeded to pitch up right next to me at an awkward spot making me feel uncomfortable whilst doing it (that probably says more about my guilt complex tbh tho!).
The price reflects all the added facilities at the location, which I was happy to pay but not so much given the lack of a hot shower when I wanted one. Maybe better serviced during high season I guess and in the main camping area which I’d probably try if I was in the area & went again.

Neglected, sad and desolate in October half-term
 Electric grass pitch
Liked The lady in charge of the campsite is friendly, she works super hard to keep things clean. Huge space, nice and flat. THe carboot on Sunday was great. Angie (in charge of the carp lodges) IS AWESOME! Give her a promotion. She saved the day and let our boys fish in the alternative lake.
Disliked Where do I start? The toilet blocks look like Beirut. They are poorly drained ex shipping containers and surrounded by puddles. The electricity went out several times while we were there, it is quite daunting being in the pitch black darkness in a shipping container, almost reminiscent of a horror film.
The campsite has a pile of rubble and a fenced off section of dilapidated caravans surrounded by mesh as you come in, not the most scenic of welcomes. Everything feels neglected, like it needs money invested in it. I would rather pay an extra tenner a night and feel like I am on holiday rather than on a stretch of neglected wasteland. We went here because Stonham Barns has lots for our boys to do; fishing and golf mainly. However, the fishing guy never answers his phone and when we arrived we were told there was no fishing due a competition that weekend. This was not mentioned on the website when we booked. Angie was brilliant and helped us find an alternative spot to fish in. The golf is great for kids- fantastic details on the Halloween crazy golf course. The 9 hole is not the most manicured of golf courses but fine for children and possibly the most well presented part of the whole experience.
The shopping area is weird. It is like there has been some sort of zombie apocalypse. You enter a shop and it feels as though you have been the only customer in decades. My children liked the sweet shop although the lady who served them didn't seem like she enjoyed her job. The guys in the Pokemon shop were lovely with my boys and super friendly.
Stonham Barns has SO much potential, but it seems as thought the owners may be a little reluctant to invest the money to make it nice. We won't be back for camping, unless some money is spent on improving the facilities but we may come back for crazy golf.

Liked Great service pitch, super friendly and helpful staff, wonderful entertainment and amenities on site. Had such a brilliant time!!! The only small downside was the lack of gluten free options on menu, but that will never be enough for us to stop visiting again :)

Liked Great facilities and friendly staff. Went for Swede Fest Truck Show so fantastic weekend. No problem leaving motorhome on site after checkout time on final day so we could go out for the day in Felixstowe. We had a great pitch on edge of field, so very quiet.
