Electric grass pitch

Liked: Good, clean site with plenty of space on the pitch. Good welfare facilities and straightforward booking in process, book yourself in on arrival unless you need assistance. The site is quiet and dog friendly. WiFi is available and had an adequate signal.

Disliked: Only downside is that it is not within walking distance of other amenities but that doesn't really detract from the the experience.

Electric grass pitch (large)

Liked: Beautiful very well kept site, full of character with train carriages & coaches as accommodation. Pitch size was very generous. Tony, the owner came to welcome us once we were setting up & told us about the wonderful carriage bar we could visit which was open on Friday night for food & drinks (Mid Suffolk light railway). Toilets, showers & washing up facilities excellent. Peaceful & perfect sized site. We cycled into Debenham which was awesome, along quiet country roads stopping to buy freshly laid eggs on route! Would we visit Brockford Sidings again - 100% YES!

Disliked: Nothing - everything was perfect. From previous comments & when we’ve stayed on previous sites, maybe a small freezer for ice packs but this was not an issue for us although maybe in height of summer heatwave it could have been useful

Electric grass pitch (large)

Liked: The quiet surroundings was wonderful along with the large pitch size. We had three pitches between three families and it was more than adequate. The shower and toilet facilities were clean and hot water always seemed available even late at night! The play area was adequate for the children along with the football goals!! Having the option of going to the local bar on the Friday was great 👍🏼 The men in the group said the atmosphere was nice and beverages were reasonably priced. I took my dog, and loved the amount of poo bins in the area! We live local so knew about most activities but Tony (owner) had provided some leaflets in the reception phone box for those who may need them. One of our group stayed in the carriage and although basic, said it was comfortable. Their toilet/ shower block was really nice! The WiFi was okay when used. Loved the fact we could do last minute bookings too. Tony was friendly and welcoming! Will def return next year!

Disliked: Couple of suggestions: - a communal freezer would be useful for ice blocks - fire pits would make this an even more pleasant experience especially with the amount of Gnats that came out when the sun went down! Having the option to hire them or bring own fire pits would be wonderful.

Local attractions

After taking the kids to learn about old-fashioned travel at the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum (five minutes' walk), take them off for animal encounters, agricultural insights and pony rides at Easton Farm Park (30 minutes' drive), or venture in the other direction towards Framlingham Castle (30 minutes) for family-friendly adventures on a medieval theme. If you liked that, then Henry II's unusual polygonal tower at Orford Castle (50 minutes) should be right up your street too. While here, make time to take in Orford village's pretty traditional cottages and welcoming pubs, or follow the sound of the waves and explore the wild wetlands of Orford Ness National Nature Reserve (50 minutes). More coastal capers await at spectacular spots such as Aldeburgh (55 minutes), Thorpeness (an hour) and Southwold (an hour), all of which are located within the gorgeous Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Birdlife abounds in this biodiversity haven – your hosts particularly recommend grabbing a pair of binoculars and heading to the well-camouflaged hides at RSPB Minsmere (an hour) and Walberswick (an hour).
