Liked: There was nothing we liked about the campsite unfortunately. However park holidays were very accommodating when we went to their main site and explained the situation. So massive thank you to them.
Disliked: We decided to give this site the benefit of the doubt. Please DON’T do the same until they’ve improved the site. There was no staff at the site to check in with/show us our pitch. Tried calling both numbers on the board multiple times and nobody answered. The facilities were awful, no soap in either the men or women’s, hadn’t been cleaned that day, extremely run down, took 3 flushes for the toilet to actually flush. The site is extremely run down and could be very nice if some TLC was put into it.

Electric grass tent pitch
Liked: Location, adults only, peaceful site. Plenty of wildlife, great bird spotting. We were camping and had the whole camping field to ourselves
Disliked: Facilities appalling. Shower room cubicles, washing facilities all need a major upgrade or re-build. No recycling bins available, three/four huge overflowing waste bins some with bedding/duvets were present throughout our stay (mon-fri) . The weekly sheet to welcome arrivals hadn't been updated since 4th May. Spoke to someone who confirmed our booking but had impression it wasn't really his job to help. From then, we were on our own, we did see two staff gardening but they didn't make eye contact or acknowledge us

Electric grass tent pitch
Liked: The site location was perfect for visiting the surrounding area. The area was very peaceful, we were a bit concerned about the possibility of noise from the caravan park but this didn't occur, maybe because it is early in the season. The use of a microwave and toaster was a nice touch, especially as we were in a tent with limited cooking facilities. Re the previous reviews, the boiler had now been fixed and the potholes in the drive filled! The Poacher's Pocket nearby serves amazing food and definitely worth a visit.
Disliked: The toilets and washrooms could have been cleaner. The soap dispenser in both the gents and ladies loo was empty for the week and there were no hand towels for much of the time. Whilst a mop was provided to clean the shower cubicles after use, it was dry with no water/cleaner in the mop bucket so you were basically wiping the floor with dirt from the previous use. There was leaking pipe work in the washrooms and laundry room. The outside bins by the washroom area were overflowing (with rubbish from the caravan site?) and it was disappointing that there was no facility to separate rubbish for recycling. We stayed for a week and during that time didn't see any staff for the campsite, either checking guests were okay or that all was well on site. I appreciate that during low season the facilities may not need to be cleaned daily but during the week we were staying we didn't see any staff checking the washrooms etc and if they did they failed to notice the empty soap dispensers! We dont mind a basic site, we have stayed at quite a few, but they have all been clean and hygenic. We are regular campers and used to being self sufficient. If this was our first experience of camping we would have been very disappointed. If the site is to continue as a camping/touring site it needs some tlc.

Electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Our pitch was flooded and so we had to go to a hard standing by the bins, which was used as a laundry depot for the main site. All the other pitches were also very boggy. No hand soap or paper towels in ladies or hairdryer point. All in very poor condition overall
