  • Family camping weekend with lots of entertainment for all ages
  • Funfair, live comedy and music; kids’ rides and extreme stunt shows
  • Security-guarded pitches with showers; food, drink and shops on site
Roll up for an all-action family camping weekend at the Festival of Wheels, taking place at Suffolk’s Trinity Park, near Ipswich, on the weekend of 6–7 August 2022. Visit for the day or stay over for an amazing camping weekend packed with family entertainment at a fun-fuelled car show. What’s going on? Alongside the thousands of vehicles on display, you can look forward to a spectacle of speed, live stunt shows, lowriding displays… and that’s just for starters. All this is included in the price of your ticket for the weekend. If that's not enough, more activities are available for an additional charge, including Monster truck rides, clay-pigeon shooting and simulator experiences. When you’ve all worn yourselves out running from one attraction to the next, do a bit of stall-hopping in the Shopping Village, graze on artisan food and – if you're not driving – indulge in a cocktail or two from the bar. Once the action is over you can retire to your pitch, safe in the knowledge that you don’t have to drive home and can look forward to doing it all again the next day. And the campsite facilities? There is light on the pitches, which are served by showers and toilets. Electric hook-ups are available at an extra cost, and for your peace of mind, the campsite is securely patrolled.

Local attractions

Activities for kids include acrobatics from the stars of Happy’s Big Top Circus, as well face painting, an inflatable climbing course and gentle jaunts around the go-kart circuit. If the kids show signs of flagging, just hop on the free mini-train that circles the site and move on to their next activity, or give them a break from all the excitement and treat them to ice cream in the Shopping Village. As well as extreme stunt shows, simulator rides and American truck displays, you can spend the day happily wandering from wrestling matches to daredevil goes on the Wall of Death or admiring the cool all-American vintage cars on display. There’s plenty to keep you all happy in the evening too, with the choice of an alfresco cinema, neon-light funfair rides and a whole host of live concerts. Just bear in mind that some of the night-time entertainment is not wholly suitable for young ears, especially the Comedy Club Motormouth sessions.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: tNothing

Disliked: Gates not open until exactly 14.00 hours Traffic queued on the main road until They were told by Council to open the gates. Then we were shuffled into an empty field. until the road was cleared, Waited for 20 mins while new traffic was shown parking places this took 45 mins. What an unorganized festival. No body in control of campers or lots available. Well, the festival was not what I expected only 2 stunt cars/bikes. Most rides were extra money. That was a complete waste of time. toilets were overused and not suitable as no Ulsan or washing up facilities for campers available in our area, The noise from the band until 23'00 hrs was louder in my home than we have the TV on. Also, no security at night as shouting and bad language until 03.00 in the morning, also some kind sole had air horns which they liked to sound after midnight just to keep your attention. This was not as advertised a complete waste of time and very expensive as well. NOT RECOMMENDED.
