General

  • Luxury shepherd's hut; exclusive use of acre site surrounded by trees
  • Full-size double bed, heating, microwave and fridge
  • Field kitchen, barbecue and Dutch oven all on site

Primrose Paddock is a small, family-run site with the exclusive use of a single shepherd's hut set in its own tree-lined paddock. The owners' aim is to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

The hut has a full-size double bed, mains electricity and USB points. Also included are a fridge, clean linen, microwave, gas cooker, and a Dutch oven on a cooking tripod. Exclusive use of a luxury shower and WC is in a separate cabin and there's also a field kitchen with a gas cooker and washing-up facilities

The site is home to lots of wildlife including woodpeckers, deer and plenty of rabbits. There are hens too, so guests can have free-range eggs.

A village shop is a mile away in Horham and another is in Stradbroke and open late. Primrose Paddock is also close to many good places to eat and drink, including the Earl Soham Brewery (six miles) and the nearby Framlingham Station Hotel: ask the friendly team if you want advice on where to nosh.

Well kitted out shepherds hut in peaceful location 09/10/2017

Attention to detail of everything you needed - cups, cutlery, toaster, kettle etc - even tea and coffee.
Lovely location to sit outside and listen to the birds.

    Disliked:

Shower and toilet hut a little further than we would have ideally liked, but maybe this was due to water connections etc.
Be aware that the light is a sensor 1 so if you have a shower in the evening you will need to wave your arm around!

My Son and daughter-in-law stayed at Primrose Paddock for their wedding anniversary and loved the peace and quite. Lovely hut, well appointed and very clean. Clean shower too, although rather cold in there as there was no heating. They would very happily stay at the shepherds hut in Primrose paddock again and would recommend it.

Loved the peace and quiet. The shepherds hut was pretty and very well equipped and so were the kitchen and bathroom. We had the whole acre and facilities to ourselves. A wonderful place to spend a short break - star gazing around an open fire every night!

The Shepherd's hut itself is beautiful, tastefully furnished, with more inside that I thought could be fitted in such a small space! The location is peaceful and surrounded by countryside. The cooking facilities were good and the shower/toilet cubicle excellent. We met the owner Jayne on arrival and she was very friendly but did not then intrude on our stay and the hut is far enough away from the main house to feel very private. All in all a very good place to stay at a good price

    Disliked:

Nothing other than there is no wifi but we did not expect it and was there to escape everyday life anyway

What a fantastic stay! It is a very long time since we had such a restful and pleasant break. The Shepard's hut was very cosy and warm with all the facilities we needed and eating outdoors in the field kitchen was a real treat. The wildlife all around you and the bird song instead of the news made us realise there is more to life than the internet!
Sitting around the camp fire in the evening reading a good book was the icing on the cake.
Thanks to the Smith family for a wonderful experience, they are very fortunate to live in such a wonderful environment.
