What customers say
A peaceful, well-maintained site offering spacious pitches and a back-to-nature experience. Visitors frequently praise the quiet rural location, close proximity to Wells-next-the-Sea, and the clean, eco-friendly composting toilets. The free-roaming chickens are a popular feature. Some guests noted occasional early morning noise from cockerels and the lack of showers. Manager replies indicate that issues such as bin placement, tap drainage, and toilet maintenance have been addressed.

Clean compost toilets. Back to basics campsite.
Bantam electric grass touring pitch
Liked Located very near to Wells-Next-the-Sea.
Short drive away.
Bantam is a large grass pitch with electric hookup.
View over fields.
Lovely pub down the road, with good food (try the pies) approx. 20 min road walk- The Three Horseshoes.
Could hear the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway train during the day time which was quite nice as the track runs nearby.
Chickens free range around the campsite, but be warned a lot of them are cockerels so there was a lot of crowing, during the day & during the night….take ear plugs!!!! 🤣 🐓
Disliked No showers but this is clearly stated so was not a surprise.
Cockerel’s crowing through the night!!!

Silkie non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked A nice secluded campsite. Great for stargazing! Beautiful camping area with lovely ducks that marched around like security guards checking over the site. We had access to firepits and able to buy all we needed for that.
Disliked No showers on site or washing areas for pots and pans etc. There were good compost loos but unfortunately someone had blocked one of them so we stuck to using the other.

Silkie non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovely quiet clean, no frills eco site. Nice and small site which fitted in with our quiet family perfectly. Great setting and well kept. Amazingly clear dark starry skies, which were beautiful. Composting toilet very clean and as a plant based eco family was a brilliant idea for off grid camping.
Disliked Nothing, all was fine. Yes, the cockerels wake you up and pheasants, but you are rural so what do people expect?
