Plenty of room for the whole family

  • Spacious Norfolk Broads bell tents near Horning
  • A five-minute drive to BeWILDerwood; 10 minutes to Wroxham boat hire
  • Bedding, firepit and kitchen kit provided; bathroom for each tent
Big Norfolk skies, comfy bell tents – and all within the splendid surroundings of the Broads National Park. All of this comes together in the form of Hall Farm Glamping, a peaceful and pretty spot about two miles from Ludham, 20 minutes' drive from the coast and half an hour from Norwich. The bell tents here are set up in a natural water meadow, with views across the marshes to the River Ant. It’s a fabulous location for taking in all the variety Norfolk has to offer – from here it’s very easy to potter around by bike or boat, take a cruise through the Broads or hit the beaches, and to get to attractions like Wroxham Barns or BeWILDerwood. And it's a fabulous location for a bit of winding down too – those big skies are impressive by day or by night, and your neighbours being sheep in the next-door field adds to the relaxing atmosphere. Each bell tent has outside furniture and a firepit/barbecue (with starter packs of wood) to boost that outdoor time even more. Inside, things are just as well thought out: each tent sleeps four in a double bed and two camp beds, all of which are made up with cosy bedding ready for your arrival. Pots, pans, glasses, a kettle, mugs and washing-up kit are all provided too – you’ll just need to bring your camping stove and whatever food and drinks you need. The secluded location of the tents means there’s no electricity, but you’ll have running water for washing up, and bottled water for drinking. Each tent also has its own fridge, ice box freezer, shower and toilet.

Local attractions

Bring bikes along to explore the local pathways – this area is mainly flat, so it’s nice and easy to cycle, even with kids. If you’ve not brought bikes, hire them in Horning (five minutes' drive) – or, for a change of activity, hire boats for a river adventure. Wroxham (10 minutes) is another good spot for boats – here you can hire your own or join cruises through the Norfolk Broads. Kids are also likely to enjoy Wroxham Barns (10 minutes), an award-winning attraction with miniature golf, go karts and other play kit as well as lots of cute farm animals to meet (plus shops, restaurants and galleries to entice the grownups). After that, how about an outdoor adventure at BeWILDerwood (five minutes), to meet Twiggles and Crocklebogs amid the various activities and play areas. Heading east, you can also get to the coast with a drive of 20 minutes or so, to spend days on beaches like Sea Palling and Winterton-on-Sea or visit the Sea Life Centre and funfair in Great Yarmouth.
