General
Food fans rejoice: there are ten different food and drink outlets at the award-winning seaside park Searles Leisure Resort in Hunstanton, which dishes up tasty treats from steak in a lakeside setting to a Norfolk breakfast buffet at Smoky Jo’s. Better book for at least ten days then, to sample a different one daily.
The spacious level pitches around the park take up to eight people and can fit all sizes of tents, folding campers and tourers; pitches also come with free leisure passes and access to the shower blocks with free hot water, underfloor heating and even a bit of music as you lather up.
Elsewhere on site there’s a well-stocked shop, a play area, indoor and outdoor pools, a golf course with driving range and a beauty salon for pitching up in style.
Kids can jest about with on-site entertainer Barry the Jester or take part in the park activities for ages from two to teen, with a full programme of evening entertainment on hand for all the family. Not sure what’s best to pick? Have a word with the friendly Searles wardens for a point in the right direction.
Searles Leisure Resort is open all year round and dogs are welcome: they can also let off steam at Hunstanton’s main beach a couple of minutes’ walk away from the park, which allows dogs on the sands apart from during the summer months (July to August).

Local attractions
A ten-minute walk along the seafront from Searles Leisure Resort reaches the seaside resort of Hunstanton, with cafés and an amusement park along the way; there’s a Sea Life Sanctuary too on Hunstanton’s south promenade to peer at penguins and other marine life.
Guests are in prime position from Searles for trips along the cracking north Norfolk coastline, with fishing, nature, coastal villages and RSPB reserves all close to hand. The Coasthopper bus runs from Hunstanton for a more leisurely way to see the coast, or bikes can be hired at Searles for getting about under your own steam.
Feeling royal? The Queen’s northern retreat at nearby Sandringham House has a museum, gardens and free access to the country park all year round.
It’s one of several historic houses in Norfolk: the award-winning walled garden and herd of white deer at Robert Walpole’s former pad Houghton Hall; a Palladian mansion and museum at Holkham Hall, and National Trust properties including the Jacobean Blickling Hall and waymarked woodland walks at Felbrigg Hall.
Follow your nose to the fields and distillery of Norfolk Lavender, also home to a rare breeds animal centre and play park, or take to the car to take in one of the many day trips from Norfolk: the seaside resorts of Skegness, Mablethope and Great Yarmouth; the castle and biggest indoor market in England at Norwich; the deer safari and farm animals at Snettisham Park, and dropping off the Jolly Roger at Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park.
