  • Dog-friendly site on a privately-owned nature reserve
  • A 40-minute drive from Sandringham Estate; walk to the local pubs
  • One-mile woodland walk and railway carriage tea room on site
Setting up base on a nature reserve is very much on the horizon at Manor Farm… and what else? Well, on a privately-owned nature reserve in Cambridgeshire, this stunning spot is also half an hour’s drive away from the market town of King’s Lynn and 40 minutes from the historic Sandringham Estate. First, set off on the woodland walk on site, which is just over a mile long. Set in three woodlands and with open grassy spaces galore, the site is just stunning. One of guests’ favourite spots, of course, will be the 1886 railway carriage tea room on site, which serves freshly baked and cooked real food, all homemade – tea, cake, a full afternoon tea or Sunday lunch, you decide. The site’s dog-friendly too, and a dog exercise field is available for hourly hire should you want to use it. For the kids, just potter over to the kids’ play area. Relaxing and unplugging is easy all around, what with the pretty scenery. Keen anglers can take a 35-minute walk to the local fishing lakes. For those who are more invested in hunting down a local pub for a drink or two, there’s one just next door and another half an hour’s walk away – handy, indeed. The site also has toilet and shower facilities.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked A lovely wild-feeling site in the middle of a private nature reserve. We came for the eclipse and meteor shower and had a lovely view (there was one other van!) There is a beautiful walk around the site with woods, open meadows and a pond area. It was fun to come across little areas like a quiet spot with a table for two and wild rabbits grazing, a summer house and pond, a children’s play area, a communal campfire area and a hidden railway carriage that used to be a tea room. We came with dogs and they loved the walks on site and I wish I’d discovered this when my children were young as it felt safe and there’s so much space to explore. The camping field is a large tree-lined meadow with paths and camping spaces mowed out. They are all nice and level with plenty of shade. This is somewhere I could come regularly to get away from everything and relax in the quiet. Alan’s instructions were clear and it was easy to find. The owner was friendly and present if we needed anything but didn’t hover. There are heated bathrooms with toilet and shower and a fresh water tap for filling up. Most of all excellent value for money! I almost didn’t want to leave a review as I love that it’s quiet and underused!!

Disliked These are far from dislikes for me but something to be aware of: there is a lot of wildlife onsite so you can hear deer and foxes at night, everything has a slightly run-down feel which, for me, gave it its charm but don’t expect anything pristine. Poor mobile signal (this might be a positive for some) Pitch up also haven’t updated that the tearooms are not open but Alan informed me before arrival.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Pitches were well maintained and large, able to pick sunny or shade. Good sized loop walk if you want. Enclosed field for kids to run about with no worry of them running off. Ladies loo and shower were clean with good power shower however the building on the wonk so drainage was slow. Quiet location, really relaxing atmosphere.

Disliked Male shower was dirty and again drainage was poor. Building needs levelling. Kids play area although large, just need to be maintained to make it a bit safer.
