Camping field in summer

  • Secluded back-to-nature site on a peaceful 16-acre farm
  • Worcester city centre and Malvern Hills within 15 minutes' drive
  • Meet farm animals on site; farm park with café and fishing next door
‘The theme here is peace and quiet – with just the sounds of the countryside’ say the owners of Tinkers Field… and doesn’t that just sound like a lovely soundtrack for your Worcestershire break? You’ll only be about 15 minutes’ drive from Worcester city centre here – but you’ll probably feel like urban life is many miles away from the peaceful 16-acre farm. The owners limit guest numbers on site so there’s plenty of space for all at the pitch area, which is at the far end of the farm, flanked by a brook. Of course, this is a farm so you’ll also be sharing the space with the permanent residents, which include Gloucester Old Spot pigs, sheep, ducks, chickens and turkeys. Give them a wave as you wander by – and see if the site staff have collected any eggs for your breakfast. You’ll be allowed to bring along a barbecue for your outdoor cookery, and there’s a pub half a mile away serving good-value meals and ales if you’d rather head out. Pitches here are spacious and pleasingly flat, with easy access to footpaths for those who’d like to take a wander. One place that’s simple to get to is the neighbouring farm park, which is five minutes’ walk away and has fishing lakes and a small café. For longer walks, the top end of the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is only about 15 minutes’ drive away. Life on site is all about sustainability, but even so, there is access to a hot and cold shower in the on-site shower shed, as well as facilities including a fresh-water standpipe and a composting toilet– and an excellent one it is too, up on a raised platform with fabulous views over the Malvern Hills.

What customers say

This is a peaceful, friendly campsite with a back-to-basics feel, praised for its spacious pitches and welcoming hosts. Facilities, including a unique "loo with a view," are generally clean and well-maintained. Guests enjoyed the natural surroundings, proximity to local pubs and farms, and the on-site animals. While some noted the distance to the water standpipe and lack of a shower block (though this is reportedly changing), and a single instance of noise disturbance was mentioned, the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning return visits.

Nice quiet site but the lack of water is an issue. Not for young kids.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Peaceful, quiet campsite close to nature.

Disliked Sink in the toilet is not plumbed in and the water in the dispenser was not replaced meaning that it ran out over the weekend. We had to provide their sheep with water as they had run out and nobody seemed to be checking on them. Expensive for what it is.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback – it really helps us improve while staying true to our back-to-basics theme. As an off-grid site, we aim to offer simple, practical facilities without becoming a commercial site with a full toilet block. We’ve updated our sign in the toilet to give clearer guidance on emptying the bowl and refilling the water jugs if ever needed. Just to reassure you, our sheep always have more than one source of clean water in their field. We’re always working to balance comfort while maintaining rustic charm and we’d love to welcome you back.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Loved the location with walks from the campsite, the campsite had a very relaxed feel, big pitch with bbq’s and fires allowed, dog friendly and a friendly welcome. Great wild camp experience but with the comfort of a quirky compost toilet and shower hut.

Disliked The site could have done with some more bins with recycling options and a wash basin/dish washing space would be very handy.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Monique, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for the suggestions, we are always looking for ways to make improvements and have added a selection of bins for recycling different items 😀

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked An amazing place full of peace and the sounds of nature, where you can relax from everyday problems and the hustle and bustle of the city. You'll definitely return with your batteries recharged. 🙃 The animals on site are very friendly and fight for your attention. 😁 The owner is a wonderful person, very helpful and kind. We will definitely return to this place again and again and will definitely recommend it to our friends. The eggs are delicious. 😘 See you soon 😀

Local attractions

Countryside pursuits nearby might include fishing (next door at Cob House Countryside Park), horse riding from Tipton Hall Riding School (15 minutes’ drive) or swinging through the trees at Go Ape Wyre (25 minutes) – perhaps followed by a local cider picked up from Lingens Farm (five minutes). If country houses are more of your thing, plan trips to Witley Court and Gardens (10 minutes) and National Trust - Brockhampton (20 minutes) or learn about one of England’s great composers at National Trust - The Firs: Elgar’s Birthplace (five minutes). For a different kind of history, head to Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb (10 minutes), said to be the oldest motorsport venue in the world still running races. Of course, you’ll need to visit Worcester (15 minutes) at some point too – perhaps to see the cathedral and Tudor House Museum, watch some cricket or just stroll on the banks of the River Severn.
