What customers say
Tinkers Field is praised for its abundant space, peaceful atmosphere, and back-to-basics, eco-friendly camping experience. Visitors highlight the friendly and welcoming host, Sarah, and the well-maintained, if simple, facilities, particularly the unique composting toilet and hot shower. The site's rural location offers beautiful views and opportunities for walks. While most guests found the facilities adequate, a few mentioned minor issues with water refills and the desire for additional toilets or washing-up areas. Manager replies indicate improvements have been made or are being monitored.

Wonderfully peaceful
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked This was our second year staying at Tinkers Field and we couldn't wait to come back. We had such a wonderful experience the first time that we wondered if it could possibly live up to our memories—but we're leaving feeling exactly the same all over again! Already looking forward to our next visit.
What makes Tinkers Field so special is the abundance of space. There is so much room to relax, explore and simply enjoy being outdoors without feeling on top of other campers. We made the most of it with water gun fights, flying kites and enjoying the freedom.
As the day drew to a close our evenings were spent around the campfire chatting, laughing and watching the flames . It was the perfect way to unwind and make memories.
Sarah is a fantastic host – friendly, welcoming, helpful and wonderfully laid-back. She has created a campsite with a genuinely relaxed atmosphere, always happy to help if needed while giving everyone the freedom to enjoy their stay in their own way.
The site is beautifully maintained while still retaining that authentic, back-to-basics camping experience. Waking up to birdsong, breathing in the fresh country air and escaping the pace of everyday life is exactly what camping should be about.
If you're thinking about booking, do it.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked A quiet site with few pitches and open views of the field. Plenty of space and a friendly host that greeted us with plenty of information. Even the composting toilet was nice! For a toilet with no flush, it never smelt once! Great place for our first camping experience 😊

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Lovely quiet place!
Our timing was perfect for the hay harvest. It was so picturesque!. For a first timer camping, this is perfect! Our 2 dogs love it!
It is a few minutes walk from a a nearby Country Park and had a nice breakfast.
Sarah is very helpful and accommodating. I love her values where she's always conscious about wildlife and nature. She left a part of the farm untouched where insects thrive and we even heared crickets!

Liked Incredibly peaceful site, brilliant for switching off completely. The facilities are clean and simple, and my son thought the "poo with a view" was hilarious.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review, glad you enjoyed your stay. Also thank you for the note about the shower, it helps us keep things running things smoothly, we have looked into why it was cold, but it's working as it should now. We will monitor it closely to see if the problem is intermittent. Hope to see you again soon :-)

From the manager: Thank you for your nice review and lovely photo's. The Poo With A View in action picture made us all laugh! :-) I hope you enjoyed your stay as much as we enjoy having people share in our little corner of tranquility! Look forward to seeing you in 2026!
A lovely place to stay.
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked A beautiful and peaceful spot to spend the night. The facilities are basic but lovely, clearly a lot of thought has gone in to making the toilet and shower sustainable and a pleasure to use. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and gave us great advice on our first night in our own campervan. We would definitely stay here again.
