  • Family-friendly countryside park with fishery and reindeer
  • A 20-minute drive from Worcester; 25 minutes from Great Malvern
  • Seven fishing lakes; café on site for breakfast or lunch; pubs nearby
Picnics with local meats, cheeses and artisan breads? Reindeer, alpacas, goats, chickens and pigs Thelma and Louise as neighbours? Day trips to Worcester and the Malvern Hills? Tick, tick and tick? Then head to The Cob House Countryside Park, a family-run site in rural Worcestershire with a fishery, countryside park, café and resident animals such as reindeer. Pick up a traditional breakfast from the site’s fully licensed café-restaurant The Mayfly and then sort a picnic from the local meats, cheeses and artisan breads that are available in The Cob Shop. Once well-fed, you should be quite ready to take on the number of walking routes that start directly from The Cob House or the hilly climbs and mountain biking trails in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, half an hour’s drive away. If you’re around during the daytime, there are home-cooked lunches, cakes and afternoon teas available at the café. That's particularly handy if you're getting stuck into your fishing activities… that’s right, the site also has seven coarse fishing lakes (bring your own equipment and try your luck with some rather large carp). The Cob House Countryside Park runs events throughout the year, such as kids’ fun days, fishing lessons, model boat sailing (every Sunday), car boot sales, racing pigeon release, dog shows and fundraising days. As for essential facilities, the site also has a modern toilet and shower block. What about your day trips? Worcester is the closest city 20 minutes’ drive away and has the River Severn, Worcester Cathedral and heaps of interesting shops. Great Malvern, 25 minutes’ drive away, is a characterful town at the foot of the Malvern Hills too. For evening meals, there are several pubs within five minutes' drive of the site.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Spacious pitches and friendly staff. Toilets and showers lovely and clean. Not peak season so no queues for showers. Pitches well maintained and flat.

Disliked Disabled shower only had one key. Lady drove off with key so other guests with disabilities could not use facilities. More keys needed.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Good sized, level pitches which were well maintained. Spotless facilities block and wash up. Lovely welcome on arrival at pitch. Great breakfast just before we left. Space for kids to play and walks direct from the site. One of only a few local sites that allow a single night stopover at weekends

Disliked Not obvious where Reception is on arrival or on published site map, especially if the cafe is closed ( after 4pm). Similarly, elsan disposal not great. Poor phone and wifi on pitch but were informed of this at booking

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Great clean facilities. Great to have the option to eat and drink at the Cafe on site. Lots of places to walk as well as a play area and animals to entertain the kids.

Disliked Certain pitches can be close to each other if you are on a corner plot. Distance between the other pitches is very good. Phone coverage was bad(O2) and no Wifi on site other than the Cafè. Also could not get TV channels. None of this was important to us, but may be to other users

Disliked Found a hair in my breakfast 🍳 and disappointed that the big fishing pools had comps on and what was available wasn’t well maintained, cockroaches were round the washing/shower/toilet block.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Peaceful site, good size level pitch, facilities on site clean, staff friendly, plenty of space for ball games and lovely animal enclosure and cafe. poor signal on site but WiFi at cafe.

Disliked We were on pitch 9 inside corner, felt over looked surrounded by other pitches. Water waste at washing up area and caravan waste was different saying to tip it on grass area. Clean water supply and Elsan point were right next to each other which doesn't seems hygienic.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Spacious pitches in between two fishing pools. wheelchair and pushchair short walks around the park, longer walks for the able and dogs on lead. Friendly wardens. very clean facilities but…

Disliked beware of the toilets/shower block, take a torch there are no windows. lights turn off and sensor is by the door. no fun half way through a shower to run to the front door and wave your hands. 13 presses on the button before any warm water starts to come out . Fishermen very noisy so not good if you want a lie in on the weekend especially when they catch a fish .

Local attractions

Kicking things off with a good stroll? Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (half an hour’s drive) has options like a town trail, the Teme Valley path, Worcestershire Beacon and the British Camp trek. The Knapp And Papermill Nature Reserve (20 minutes) is not so strenuous, especially if you stop to sniff the wildflowers. It might be that you’re after something that’ll evoke the old times, and English composer Elgar's birthplace The Firs (10 minutes) should get any creative juices flowing. Witley Court and Gardens (15 minutes), a grand manor house, and Brockhampton (20 minutes), an ancient estate, make good spots for a picnic among historic surroundings. If you’re after some lively scenes, Worcester (20 minutes) has a cathedral, museum and a busy high street. There are events and shows year round at the Three Counties Showground (half an hour). Great Malvern (25 minutes) is a characterful spot too, with walks into the hills from the railway station, plus a town trail and regular farmers’ markets.
