  • Spectacular glamping accommodation on a nine-acre equestrian site
  • A 20-minute drive to Worcester and 10 minutes' walk to a pony centre
  • Heating, kitchen equipment, Freeview and outdoor seating
It's the accommodation that makes Ockeridge Rural Retreats so special, says the site's family team – a point of view you'll surely agree with as soon as you arrive. For the units here have been manufactured to the family's own design, to provide luxury accommodation at hotel standards: think central heating, customised kitchens, Freeview TVs, bed linen provided and smart bathrooms kitted out with towels... Your luxury base is in Worcestershire, on a nine-acre equestrian site 20 minutes' drive from Worcester and down a peaceful lane with views over fields towards Little Witley. The Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are within easy reach of here; for city day trips, Worcester, Cheltenham, Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham are all 50 minutes to an hour away. This is an excellent place for equine enthusiasts: horses and Shetland ponies trot around the surrounding paddocks, and a kids' pony centre is 10 minutes' walk down the lane. Guests are very welcome to watch the Ockeridge horses being shod, or being worked in the riding arena. Country pubs serving food are within walking distance, but the glamping at Ockeridge has been fully set up for guests to cater for themselves on site. As well as kitchen areas, crockery and essential kit like kettles and toasters, each unit has indoor and outdoor seating for eats inside or alfresco.

Ashwood shepherd's hut (adults only)

Liked: Had an amazing stay at the Ashwood, I booked this for my boyfriend's birthday and was so impressed with the cabin. It was so cosy and exactly as pictured. We used the log burner and it kept us so toasty and was a lovely feature. The outdoor bar and lighting was also amazing. We went to The Holt Fleet and booked a VIP Pod and prossecco which was amazing. Thanks for the amazing stay.

Hillside View shepherd's hut (adults only)

Liked: Beautiful surrounding and the hut was well equipped. The shower was decent, the views were immense and it was a relaxing and peaceful break. Broomfields is defo worth a visit too.

Disliked: The bed was hard and not v comfy. The frame was higher than the bed leaving the back of my legs marked. Also not able to watch any normal TV which was annoying. No bbc1 or ITV.

From the manager: Hi Katy Thank you for your review, I have to say we are a little disappointed by the 8/10 score as you marked us down for value for money yet we have reduced our prices by 25% this year to help people struggling with the cost of living so a little perplexed by this. Regarding you not being able to watch any normal TV including BBC1 or ITV the TV has over 150 different program channels including BBC1 and ITV, I'm not sure why you were unable to discover these and would have been happy to show you had you raised this with us. We are very quick to respond to any problems that might occur as we live on site and we want guests to have the very best possible stay with us. In order to make sure no other guest has any confusion over the TV we have purchased a new Smart TV which is being fitted today. Regarding your opinion on the bed not being very comfy and the bed leaving the back of your legs marked I'm not sure how to respond as we have always had good feedback about the comfort of the beds but I'm going to go with the old saying that the customer is always right so today we have closed the hut for the weekend and are removing the double bed and installing a brand new Kingsized bed with new bed frame. We would hope this will demonstrate to you and others reading this review that we want our customers to have the very best experience at Ockeridge Rural Retreats and would hope that you would return in the future based on the fact that you liked the "Beautiful surrounding and the hut was well equipped with a decent shower and and immense views"
