Grassy pitches (added by manager 07 jul 2021)

  • Grassy pitches on a farm site with views of the Malvern Hills
  • A 10-minute drive to Worcester; 45 minutes to West Midland Safari Park
  • Wildlife, waterside walks and fishing on site; pubs and shops close by
Entertain your wild side a little at Hill Top Farm Orchard Campsite. On a Worcestershire ex-dairy farm with cattle in the surrounding fields and a little brook where you might just be able to spot otters, this is really quite a peaceful wild camping site to check into for some downtime – on grassy pitches with views of the Malvern Hills. In case you wondering, the site is only 15 minutes’ drive away from the hills themselves, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with ripe walking grounds (or paragliding for those of you who are the adventurous type). Closer by, though, is a golf course (10 minutes’ drive) and the village of Lower Broadheath. Just a short stroll away (15 minutes to be exact), the village has a post office and a pub where you’ll be able to get some tasty food down you. In the other direction, Hallow (10 minutes’ walk) has another friendly pub and a proper handy store to select your essentials. As this is a wild camping site, facilities include portable toilets and fresh water, but dogs are welcome here and barbecues are permitted by your tent too so that you may finish off the day burger-style if you wish. As well as the brook (waterside walks, yes please), there’s a carp pond on site. Fishing on the pond is available at an extra cost, so those of you who are keen for your fishing gear to see some action won’t need to stray far.

Liked: Loved everything about Hill Top Farm Orchard Campsite - what a stunning place! Sue could not be more helpful, accommodating or welcoming - definitely goes above and beyond to make your stay just what you want it to be. The site itself is stunning, masses of space, really peaceful with great views and tons of wildlife. We asked if we could stay on site to watch the Lionesses in the World Cup Final and asked to pay - but Sue told us to stay as long as we wanted to with no charge. [We had been extremely disappointed by another site in the area, who made it clear that their primary interest was making money and definitely were not about the campers' experience - absolutely the opposite is true of Sue and Hill Top - it's clear that their priority is ensuring you have the best time whilst staying on their campsite!] Thank you - we'll be back!!

Disliked: Nothing - it's fab!

Local attractions

While Malvern Hills is known for its trails and summits, down in the towns, there’s a different buzz. Once a spa village, Great Malvern (20 minutes) has arts and crafts activities, galleries and boutique shops, while in Upton upon Severn (25 minutes), you may hire out a boat for the river Severn. Looking for a little history too? Well, the birthplace of Sir Edward Elgar at The Firs: Elgar’s Birthplace (five minutes) is close by, while Witley Court and Gardens (15 minutes) opens the doors to a ruined mansion and former manor house. A little further out but worth it for its meddlesome maze and 15th-century castle is Hampton Court Castle (45 minutes). Those of you with steam still remaining may want to flock to Wyre Forest (35 minutes), where Go Ape and bicycle hire will surely get your blood pumping. For more wildlife havens, Lickey Hills Country Park (35 minutes) has more walking and cycling trails and the West Midland Safari Park (45 minutes) has a delicious drive-through safari park. Of course, the city is close by too, as Worcester (10 minutes) has museums, shops and an ancient cathedral for an afternoon of sightseeing.
