  • Spacious, peaceful site by the river in Upton Upon Severn
  • A 10-minute drive from Tewkesbury and the Malvern Hills
  • Level, easy-access pitches 10 minutes' walk from the town centre
Settling in by the River Severn, at a spacious and straightforward site with some fine meadow views – sound splendid? If that’s a nod of agreement, wend your way to Worcestershire for a stay at Little Fish Meadow, just next to the river in the town of Upton Upon Severn. Pitches at this four-acre site are pleasingly flat and level, and easy to access from the main road into the town. Once you’re all settled in there’s little need to manoeuvre your way out again, for much of what you’ll need is within strolling distance: pubs, restaurants, a chippy and various food shops are all within a 10-minute wander over the bridge into the town centre. Boat hire and riverside rambles on the Severn Way are even closer, and there are plenty of places to get out for a good bike ride nearby too. Looking a little further afield for your jollies, you can hit Tewkesbury or the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty with a drive of 10 minutes or so, or get up to Worcester in around 20 minutes for museums, cathedral visits and an afternoon at the cricket. This riverside site is all set up to be a place for peaceful times, and facilities have been kept accordingly low key: guests have access to essentials like water, toilet facilities and electrical hookups, and are welcome to light up a barbecue for sorting outdoor dinners. Dogs are welcome to join you on a stay here too (that’ll set a few tails wagging…)

What customers say

This is a basic, well-maintained field campsite praised for its excellent location, offering a short walk to Upton town centre with its pubs and shops. Reviewers highlight the level pitches, clean toilet facilities, and the convenience of EHU. While road noise is mentioned, it's generally considered outweighed by the prime position. Some visitors found the site basic for the price, particularly noting the lack of showers, but many found it ideal for short stays and expressed a desire to return.

Liked Proximity to the town.

Disliked Toilet block was discusting for both ladies and male. All of them were blocked and were not cleared for a long time. They should provide better toilet facilities for the money you charge.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Upton-on-Severn is a nice friendly little town with pubs, ice cream shops, chips shop and riverside walks. The campsite is flat and there's plenty of space. Only a few minutes walk into town and to the marina. Was able to accommodate us for one night on a bank holiday weekend when there were few options elsewhere!

Disliked Rather overpriced for what is basically a field with basic toilets - expected a bit more for £25/night. Very few water taps. Nowhere to do washing up. No hot water. Quite a bit of road noise, however it didn't disturb our sleep in a campervan (would have been noisy in a tent).

Electric grass pitch

Liked Great location for access to Upton on Severn flat pitch and easy access.

Disliked I was fully aware it was a basic campervan pitch with electric and the site only had toilet facilities, so wasn't disappointed.

If you're looking for shower blocks and extensive facilities - this isn't the site for you.

Local attractions

Upton Upon Severn’s a fab little town – as well as supping in its pubs and browsing in its independent shops, you’ll want to check out the pretty half-timbered buildings and the medieval church affectionately known as the ‘Pepperpot’. Time visits well and you can get stuck into events at the town’s various music festivals. It’s also a handy hub for getting out to see a bit more of that gorgeous Worcestershire countryside: hire boats just across the road to glide along the Severn or hit the Severn Way, a few minutes’ walk away, to ramble or ride bikes by the water’s edge. Go far enough along the river and you’ll eventually hit Tewkesbury (to the south) or Worcester (to the north). If your legs won’t propel you quite so far, drive to the former in 10 minutes or the latter in 20 minutes – both have excellent historic buildings to visit and pretty streets to wander in. Speaking of wanders, it’s worth planning more ambles up in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, about 10 minutes’ drive away – there’s plenty of choice both for strollers and those seeking something more challenging.
