  • Friendly adults-only site at the foot of the Malvern Hills
  • Access to Castlemorton Common and 35 minutes’ walk from Little Malvern
  • Barbecues permitted on site; walk to four country pubs
Keen to get away to the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Looking for a break where your dog can get involved with the hill walking? A peaceful spot within walking distance of multiple cosy country pubs? Marlbrook Farm is here to get things started… The family-run, adults-only site based on a working horse livery yard is in the Malvern Hills AONB with direct access to Castlemorton Common and a 10-minute drive from the Three Counties Showground. Don your hiking boots and head for the common or the hills – the site is just 35 minutes’ walk from Little Malvern and under 10 minutes’ drive from British Camp Hill Fort. Those of you who’d rather mount your bicycle and get pedalling can set your sights on historic Ledbury (15 minutes’ drive or 45 minutes’ cycle) and the peaceful riverside in Upton upon Severn (25 minutes’ drive or cycle) too. Hill walking and cycling aside, those wishing to tip back a few local ales and indulge in some country pub grub will be pleased to find four such establishments within walking distance. The closest is just 15 minutes’ walk away and the remainder are 25 minutes’ walk or 35 minutes’ walk away – so judge your favourite for yourselves. If barbecues with stunning views are high on your priorities too, good news. They're permitted on site, and there’s a village shop 10 minutes’ walk away to simplify sourcing ingredients. Facilities on this peaceful independent site include one shower and two toilets located a short walk away from the pitches (passing by the horse stables) and a chemical disposal point.

What customers say

This peaceful, rural campsite offers spacious, level pitches with stunning views of the Malvern Hills. Guests appreciate the quiet atmosphere and direct access to beautiful walks. The site is horse-friendly, with paddocks and stables adding to the rural charm. Facilities are basic but generally adequate, with some visitors noting the limited number of toilets and showers. While many found the site to be excellent value, a few considered it overpriced for the facilities provided.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked So peaceful and green with well spaced, well kept pitches, good pubs within walking distance, big common for dog walking. We weren’t able to get hold of anyone when we arrived as there was no phone reception at all (which was actually quite nice) so just chose our own pitch. The facilities are exactly what I would have expected on a livery yard, they’re rustic and well used but functional. If you like spick and span club type places this isn’t for you but we loved it and will come back.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Setting, friendliness of the people I came across in the horse yard. Easy to find. Beautiful setting! Spacious pitches, quite. Everything I needed. Shower was hot and more than adequate.

Disliked Not really anything to dislike. I’m pretty self sufficient in my van. Filled up with water a couple of times, used the loo and had a shower. Can’t ask for more. It’s rural, on a livery/equine yard so if you don’t like horses probably not the ideal place.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Peace and quiet

Disliked Shower room - the shower itself worked fine but it was quite dirty and didn’t appear to be cleaned at all during our 3 night stay also I didn’t mind but some might not like having to walk through the mucky yard to get to the toilet/shower

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely location and views nice big level pitches.

Disliked Toilet and shower facilities very limited and basic, one shower and toilet for campers and another separate toilet shared with the stables. WiFi wasn't working when we stayed

Non-electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Great location, quiet and loads of walks.
A number of good pubs in walking distance.
A very helpful lady (I assume the owner) offered us the use of her private shower when the site one stopped working.
Would go again.

Disliked Don't expect 5 star facilities, (we didn't, so weren't disappointed)

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Good location near to Upton Upon Severn and beautiful Malvern Hills. Friendly staff. Small site next to a pub. Attractive, tree-shaded touring area. Everything you need - water tap, EHU, toilets, shower and chemical waste disposal.
Good Asian food.

Disliked Facilities very tired and litter around the untidy campground.
Overpriced for the condition of the facilities.
No staff to greet you on arrival at advertised opening time.
It looks like this site was once lovely but a bit run down now.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Quiet peaceful location, loved the approach on a single track over common land. There was no check in or meet and greet. Just turn up and park at your pitch. Grass parking, level with EHU and water at each pitch. Very horsey, with paddocks and jumping area which gives interest, great views of the Malverns. Large pitches with lots of space between. If you like quiet and fairly remote with good walks this is a good spot. We stayed for a night and didn’t use site toilets or shower.

Local attractions

From the site, walk straight out onto Castlemorton Common. From there, it'll take you around an hour to walk to the top of the Malvern Hills without even crossing a road. On the edge of Welland, the site is also within walking distance of the annual Welland Steam & Country Rally event. There are many more festivals in Upton upon Severn (25 minutes’ drive) For a peek into the past, try Little Malvern Priory (35 minutes' walk) or Eastnor Castle (10 minutes' drive). The latter has a deer park, arboretum and a grand castle with turrets overlooking the lake. Gawp at the state rooms in the castle or try and work your way out of the garden maze. If you’re looking to switch things up, you might want to roll down to the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (25 minutes) for yet more wanders or watersports on the River Wye.
