Disliked We wanted to fish on Reptile due to matches on other lakes but were told that both Phase two and three were closed, not advertised on website.
We then opted to fish on Lake 4 but were told there was a match on so we opted to go on Lake 5 where again there was a match scheduled but there were pegs available. The match on Lake 5 never took place as we fished there all day, on return to our tent later that day we saw that there was also no match on Lake 4 with pleasure anglers everywhere.

In addition, cafe only open from early up to 10am despite being advertised open till 2pm.

Liked They take groups.
There was water at every pitch.
The pitches we had were very spacious.
The fishing lakes look beautiful.

Disliked Toilet, shower and washing up facilities are grim! Need a good deep clean from ceiling to floor and everything in between....and this is deep dirt that has built up over time, plus cobwebs, spiders etc.
Please replace the mops, they are absolutely filthy!
Loo roll needs replacing more often, we were there 4 days and it ran out twice!
Not enough facilities for the amount of people on site.
No hot water at cleaning up area, and no plugs in the sinks!!!!
Clearly no care or pride for the camping area. It needs care and attention. This is a budget, backpacker type site but the money charged doesn't reflect that.

Liked The fishing area

Disliked The toilets was not clean, they stunk really badly and was dirty. Had breakfast in the cafe and was not advised was no mushrooms otherwise I would not of had the breakfast. The washing up area had all dead fly's and moths by the sinks. Could have done with a clean down.

Disliked More regular checking of toilets fir both cleanliness and restocking of paper. When the temperature dropped at night the Electric tripped out due to site overloading. Motorway traffic noise constant through the night.

Disliked 😡😠🤬😤😡😠🤬😤😡😠🤬😤😡This was by far the worst place we've ever stayed at. We arrived late as planned, our pitch had been taken by someone else. Tried a number of times to contact the emergency number to no avail. We even texted the numbers given and asked them to call us back urgently due to this Problem. Eventually we knocked on the vehicle that was on our pitch to be told that their pitch had also been taken by someone else and this seemed to be a pattern going back quite a few pitched. We'd booked a fully services pitch but didn't get what we paid for. We had to pitch our caravan on the grass in the dark due to the water and electricity being so far away. We had to scramble around trying to find extensions in order for us to have power and water. We also had no waste water draining point. This was night one. Night two the power kept going off all night long which was a huge inconvenience. Everyone on site was complaining and at no point did the owners apologise for this. Night three there was a car revving their engine at 3am in the morning. As well as being incredibly close to the motorway and hearing what sounds like a formula one race track day and night, we were very happy to return home after what should have been an exciting time celebrating a birthday. I have no doubt whatsoever that the owners will probably reply to this review trying to defend themselves but this is factual. It's just a real shame that nobody replies to our text or phonecalls that first night. We were also not the only guests trying to make contact with you on Friday night either. Extremely poor customer service and absolutely NOT recommended and anyone staying here at this site do so at their own risk. 😡😠🤬😤😡😠🤬😤😡😠🤬😤

Liked Late check in was a great option for us, site was clean and tidy

Disliked The electric kept going on and off every 5 minutes on the Saturday night, we tried ringing the emergency number but there was no answer.
Road noise was quite high during the day but expected being right by the motorway.

Disliked Lovely lake setting but you aren’t anywhere near or overlooking the lake. Humming of the motorway - but appreciate there’s nothing you can do about location

Liked Clean showers, nice toilet block, lovely views, good shop and lovely cafe!

Disliked Cafe closed at 2pm (completely understand as it opens at 7am!) however we were gutted as looked forward to having lunch there!
